Excellent set piece taker on his day. Most assists in the championship than anyone else.

Has his good games but also has his bad game. On the other hand he has many assists this season so I don't have any complaints.

I would rather a more consitent or faster player cash in 5m and get Jamal Campbell-Ryce or someone like him e.g eagles

I think Eagles price tag will have risen considerably this year.

Hunt is a very good player and a player who is important to us. His quality does not justify £5m, but his worth to us means we won't sell for less.

I would be very dissapointed to see him leave. I don't understand the tendency to write him off because a lot of the goals he creates are from set pieces. We still lose that threat without him.

firstly I hope this is only paper talk, why would we want to sell when we are second pushing for an auto promotion spot  A warning to Stephen Hunt (and others) do you want to be a bench warmer - Sidwell at Chelsea, Shorey at Villa, Little at Pompey, Kitson and Sonko at Stoke. January transfer window buys are always panic last ditch buys. If I were a player I'd rather be in a promotion chasing side than a cellar dweller relegation dog fight. Stephen, play out the season then look for your big money move

We don't want to sell, but Hunt has a well publicised clause in his contract that £5m will be accepted from a prem club.

which so far no one seems to have offered, all of the rest is rumours, I sort of like the idea of staying to the end of the season now.

Message to Hunt, IF the clubs come in for you now, it will only be because they failed to get their first choice, or lost a player, stay at RFC, where you have been first choice for a while, play your heart out, and who knows what will happen in the summer.

I said back at the start of October that we should have gone for Eagles! Trouble is, even if they had listened to me, the transfer window was already shut!

Anyone willing to pay £5m can have him.

And why not replace him with Andrew Surman:
He is younger
In my opinion he's a better player
He can provide cover at left back for Armstrong (something that Hunt never really mastered I don't think)
He will improve, whereas Hunt has perhaps peaked
He should be available for around £3m - leaving money left over from the Hunt deal.

Hunt has been great for us, but he has a lot to thank us for (where would he be now? Brentford, at best) and the way he's going around trying to get a move to a Premier League club is a bit naff I think.

Anyone elses views??

Almost certainly gone now. Got some cracking memories of hunt and falls into the category of reading legends and players ill remember forever. Dissapointed but always gave 100% even though he would have rather been playing elsewhere this season. Cheers hunty.

Getting £5m for Shunt would be a bargain considering we've just bought Tabb for an undisclosed fee which some are saying was worth £200,000? Brilliant if you ask me.

If Shunt goes then it would be a big loss but on the other hand great business by the club yet again.
