Bath Hoops My only concern with all of this is that it happens at the last minute again and we don't get cover in for him, I just hope that doesnt happen again like it did with Shorey and we ended up playing hunt as a left back !!!

But we already have enough cover for him!?

If Jay Tabb has been brought in for that position then I guess we have cover although I'm always worried when people say they can play anywhere across the midfield. If you have a natural left sided midfielder then it really pays off. Convey seems to be passed his best now and hasn't shown any of the form that we saw in our promotion season, and if the rumours are true he maybe off anyhow. So does that really leave us with enough cover for that position ?

No threads about Hunty on the Wigan board I checked. Guess they don't want him.

Does anyone know the best Wigan board? I checked this one: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=558&

I did a search on "Hunt" and there was a brief thread about a week ago - all of 2 posts!

Elsewhere, there are some positive comments about him on the "Wigan accept Spurs £14m bid for Palacios" thread.

Has to be Hunt - he'd fit in to our mentality. Let's face it, on paper both Koumas and Kapo are very good players - but in reality they just dont do it for 90 minutes. They dont translate their technique into helping us to win matches.

I'm sure Hunt would charge around and give us an outlet on the left. He might not be the best technically of all the players we are linked with but I'd rather have a player who is good (rather than very good) technically but who applies himself in the right way and who is difficult for teams to play against, rather than a technically great player who turns up every third match.

Seems like this bloke has Hunt pegged.

ToddlersHeadHoncho

I`d go for Hunt at Reading who is a great player and one of the players every team loves to hate while his own club loves him.

Ditto.

IMAMATEOFJOVSKY I know Spurs are struggling but I think Hunt will struggle there - small fish in ocean!

He was a big fish in small tank with us!

he will struggle for sure but he is off to SPURS

I don't get it. :|

Basically saying i think he will go to spurs but if he does, he will struggle there!!

If wigan come in maybe we could look at a deal of £4mill + Koumas??

Huge LOLz go to Mr S.Hunt.

Apparently not a very happy man because he now feels the agreed release clause of £5m is too high and the club should respect his wish to further his career and lower what they want for him.

I assume him and his dipstick agent were more than happy to agree this at the time of signing his latest contract!

Of course this is unofficial and will get pulled to pieces, but you can knock yourselves out.

So LOLzies it is.

Well if that is true (and tho it's Jay posting, it's not beyond the realms of plausability) then frankly boo-effing-hoo, Mr Hunt, boo-effing-hoo.

It's as reliable as when I was told it was Hunt mouthing off at Dellor. Same friend that mentioned the above.

I think the sooner he goes, the better. Just hope Bruce is darft enough to spend £5m on him. This could be a pretty good month is we make that much on him and replace him with Tabby, with one or two more t'follah.

But why is the release fee now too high? Is it because his performance levels have dropped? He might still be putting in the same amount of effort but his contribution with the ball at his feet from open play is very low.

Presumably if the release figure is too high then so is his salary which was agreed as part of the same package and he's agreed to take a drop in that too ?

Whether the story is true or not is another matter.

Simple really - it's now 'too high' as nobody is biting. Spurs could have, but they've gone for the headline buying deal for Palacios. Everton could have, but they're skint. Wigan now could, but it depends on the structure of the deal they got for Palacios. They could have other irons in the fire before Hunt. (Heskey is likely to leave in the summer, so they could be looking to get a striker in first.)

All in all, Hunt agreed to it, he signed it. If he doesn't like it he can go into a big girly Bellamy strop and rot in the reserves.

I'm not sure that Jamal is that good a player.

He seems a bit lightweight.

Although, I used to think Ashley Young was a bit lightweight, but look at him now.
