Yep I would let him go for about a third of that; frankly he has been woeful recently (at Swansea he was the worst player on the pitch).

£7 million to get relegated with Hodgeson ..... Priceless!

Have Fulham fired Hodgson then?

£7m would be a good price if we use it to strenghten the midfield with the sort of box to boxer we need. Otherwise I'd keep Harper.

A sackful of used 20's might even have the edge on current form.

OMG - has the football world gone insane? £7m for Harper?

Actually that has to be a joke rumour... or do these clubs really not accept the fact that, even if they do stay up, when the Sky contract is renegotiated the economy will be at its absolute nadir and their income from that source could well be halved? They have to start planning for that. Surely?

Just like they planned for it with ITV Digital

Do you really think there's any lessons learned?

I'm still LOLing at the 7 million to Fulham rumour!! Mind you, I did say when we signed Tabb that he was more likely to be a replacement for Harps than SHunt!

If Harper left for 7 mill it'd be the best thing to happen to the club since promotion :?

Friday's Child
UpNorth Fulham are to bid £7m for Harper according to the Sunday Mirror.

Very tempting....

Absolutely unbelievable....

More believable than Hunt to go for £5 million?

May well be some truth in this, given that they have just sold Bullard.

I don't think so, but he is younger and less injury prone.

he is valuable to RFC and as you say BW i think it would take a good bid to tempt us, if Fulhame made an offer, I could see others taking an interest as well.

Not much longer, but far more injury prone.

I'd take half that tbh, and I'm a Harper fan.

Yep 4 million for Harper would be a good price so the club would have to accept a 7 million bid.

I'm a huge fan of Harper, and I think we'd miss him a lot, but with the bodies we already have for central midfield £7m is not something we could turn down. TBH I'd probably take £5m.

It would provide quite a difficult question of how to set up the central midfield though. We don't really have the tough tackling ball winner we need. Cisse and Gunnar are closest, but one struggles with his anticipation and passing and the other struggles with his fitness and stamina to play 90 minutes regularly.

Then we have Marek, who seems a little light weight unless he has an excellent ball winner next to him. He has all of Harper's tackling issues and very little of his athleticism and defensive discipline. Then we have Tabb, who I understand has the athleticism, but equally is more attacking than Harper and needs the same excellent ball winner as Marek.

Finally there's Karacan, who is probably the least ready to play regularly and is more of an all round player as I understand it. He might be best off playing with Cisse. But it's unlikely he'll get in ahead of the others, even if it would probably give us a solid middle with the ability to burst forward at need. Whilst retaining the current tactical set up of holding in the middle and attacking on the wings.

Yes we could turn it down as we do not need to sell.

I do not want to lose any of our better players, of which Harper is one, unless we have a better replacement lined up.

Exactly where does Harper rate in your list of players then? When you say one of our better players, do you rate him top 3/5?? - if Harper went do you really think we would notice the difference in performance of team? He's good off the pitch - not so much on it
