winchester_royal I'll repeat what just about every person I've spoken to on the subject has said.
Hunt will be gone by Feb.

Royal Rother As soon as Jay said on another thread that the move to Wigan was "done and dusted" it seemed fair to assume he would go to Spurs.

I still can't see Spurs signing Hunt, saying that I said the same about Bullard going to Hull. Not sure Hunt is a 'spurs' sort of player. They prefer the skill and flair type down there, whereas Hunt well is a tryer.

even if he only plays for them this season and they stay up, he would be seen as a worthwhile buy
plus dont know how you can come up with that sort of nonesense when spurs are buying back chimbonda

Royal Rother Redknapp will know that Hunt is never going to be the catalyst that carries them into Europe but he badly needs a few whole-hearted triers in that squad.

Signing a right back is slightly different to signing a left winger in their roles and responsibilites in the team

GarrinchaIan Royal Don't see much to lol at there.
Just confirming that Hunt will be signing for Wigan for approx £5m within the next week

winchester_royal Mirror today says that Wigan are now going after Ledley because Hunt isn't interested in moving there.
Obviously he is holding out for Spurs, and I imagine they'll probably come in for him soon.

With nearly two thirds of the Prem still at risk from the drop, if he's really rejected comfortably placed Wigan (and I'm not knocking him if he has) I would suggest that leaves Everton as one of the few club who might still be interested that it would be prudent for him to join.
Whilst I think Tottenham would normally be a good move for Hunty, and they could certainly do with another left sided midfielder, right now the risk of relegation just can't be ignored.
If he's at The Lane by this time next week, I think it will be fair to say that he cares far more about his wallet than playing in the top flight.
If we don't go up, it seems more than likely that Prem clubs will still want him in the summer; meaning that one season in the Championship should be his worst case scenario whereas, who knows what the future might hold if he joins Spurs or most of the other clubs outside of the top eight.
Perhaps it's time to hook up once more with a select band of bench warmers who, back in the summer, were forming an orderly queue outside a certain manager's door

boy1985 Spurs already have their own version of Hunt in O'Hara, why would they pay 5mil for a replica? All huff and puff but no consistent quality.

Go check the stats.

Woodcote Royal Don't get me wrong, AP, I too think Spurs will survive as their too good to go down but, right now they're bottom and it's almost February.
If playing in the top flight is the priority Spurs are the wrong club given their current position, especially with us lying 2nd in the Chamnpionship.

To see what exactly? I don't need to check stats after watching him for 3 or so years to know he is not good enough to play for a team that wants to be in Europe

Suppose it's the gamble you take. Spurs have signed Cudicini today which is a good signing IMO, I know they are bottom but about 1 win from 12th so as Coppell says it's almost not worth looking at the table at the minute! Tottenham are a good club, still got lots of potential there, it's not a Wigan who imo will peak if they get 7th, Spurs COULD do better than that.
Reading have a great chance of going up, as much to do with the other teams failings as their own play but regardless a superb chance of top 2. Hunt will play here, this season and next he's on a good pay packet and if rumours are right he's been offered an improved deal to stay. It's a gamble that he needs to decide if it's worthwhile, does he chance his arm at a bigger club in Spurs, who have problems at the present minute where he also might not play everyweek, or does he stay in the smaller pond, play every week and try and get another promotion?
As ever with these things, money will play a significant part, if Reading of course actually recieve an offer from Spurs after all the hot air.
