We're back on!

If that was the sole reason to not let HH go, he'll now be on his way.

HH, 34, can't get in a side that may well be getting relegated from the Prem

How does that make for strengthening Reading for the Prem?

Coz LB is an area where we have little/no cover.

Yes but HH will be 35 next season, and if he's not playing, it'll be hard to stay top-fitness,
his age will make him more prone to injuries, and longer to recover.

He wants to play, they say, so first choice? For how long?

Presumably he wouldn't want to be cover

Agree with Snowball.

Can't see why HH would come here to sit on the bench, which makes you think if these rumours are true, that Coppell would have indicated that he would play.

Of course there could be other reason, such as where he lives. But you would guess he'd be taking a pay cut to join us. Maybe Coppell doesn't rate Armstrong as much as we all do....

Or the club have an agreement with Richard Branson that they'll have four Icelandic players contracted to them for the whole season, with a month to get another in if one leaves.

HH is Illugusson's replacement

HH has kept himself very fit by all accounts, I see it as a very similar deal to Duberry (or even Makin)- 18months - can play in a position where we need an extra body and will put Armstrong under real pressure - you would think he sees himself as a better player than Stretch anyway, plus he can play CB if needed and even RB.

Has also played in midfield more than effectively on occasion

Nobody has played good for Portsmouth for months. Hardly a turn up for the books.

Yes but the 2nd half Pompey had a lot of the ball and everytime HH had it, he gave the ball away by a wayward pass or hoof up the field. Actually, he would fit right in here!

Been saying it for pages and pages. Not gonna happen.

Unlikely to want to come here, unlikely we'd really want him here that much.

Allo darlin'.

He was quoted in the press as being keen to join up once again with Steve Coppell again.

Agree it's an unlikely one now. He would surely only be defensive cover anyway, and the guy wants playing time, not a like for like move and dropping a level for his trouble.

Pearce, Duberry and Bikey are enough for me. Especially with Cisse & Gunnar knocking about as well.

coppell doesn't like Bikey's inconcistancy's, and Duberry's cut is worse than feared,
