im not denying that Pearce isnt good but Inga is one of our most consistent defenders and we will miss him i am sure Pearce will give us adaqoute cover though!!

Exploratory surgery on Ivar's knee, so regardless of what they find he will be out of action for a while. Looks like Pearce and Cisse for QPR unless Doobs and Bikey make remarkable comebacks

Players have had ACTUAL surgery and been back in action in a matter of days. If all they do is stick a probe in his knee and see what's floating around he's not going to be off for long. If they find something that needs dealing with it may be a different matter of course....

And 3 stitches shouldn't keep Doobs out of Saturday should it ?

Going from the comments on the official site, Ivar is definitely out for the QPR game. Doobs has a cut and swelling in an awkward place and it is still affecting his vision, they do anticipate that it will go down by Saturday but it is hard to protect the injury.

After Tuesday night I feel we can cope. If Coppell is consistent Ivar and Doobs will have to fight over which of them pairs with Pearce.

If Cisse is at CB, then that would probably mean that Gunnar is in CM. Not good if that happens IMHO.

Karacan is a possibility IMO (if Cisse stays at CB) Be good to see him getting some more games.

any two of Pearce, Bikey & Doobs is great in my book. Cisse's heading could use some work, otherwise he's not a bad defender either. Unsurprisingly.

There's also the choice of Tabb, Matejovsky, Karacan.

Bikey played the full 90 mins for the reserves on Wednesday. He could be fit...

None of whom, IMO, can play with Harper. Cisse is essential to our midfield.

Didn't Harps and Kara work fairly well together briefly earlier in the season?

Edit: answering my own question, a bit up and down, some good results, including our biggest win of the season and some disappointing results like Ipswich away as well.

Pearce and Bikey centre back partnership sounds good to me.

Pearce is very good but not the finished article - Doobs and Bikey would be the right partnership.

Whereas Bikey IS the finished article????

Dropping Pearce after Tuesday's performance would be severly damaging to his confidence, and also a quite absurd decision.

Agreed. But Bikey needs a Mr Reliable alongside him and, although I agree Pearce looks as though he could be a future captain, he's still learning the trade himself. It would be unfair to expect him to keep an eye on Bikey as well. A Bikey/Pearce combination would be high risk so I don't expect SSC will use it unless he has to, particularly in conjunction with attacking full backs like Armstrong and Rosenior.
