I love some of Coppell's really dry stuff. All paraphrasing as I'm far too lazy to look it up but:

On this year's management Christmas party: We'll just be having a Mackeson's and a game of dominoes.

On a Wally vs Colin confrontation: Wally's a very cultured man, he often entertains us with his explanations of Greek philosophy.

On playing Cissé as a centre back: We had another look at the DVD's we got from Boavista and noticed he seemed to play in that position for them.

I liked the one after the Cardiff game, when asked about the penalty:

"I'm not going to pass judgement, but it wasn't a penalty"

Not exactly a quote, but his favourite catchphrase:

"... in many ways"

From 'Colemanballs 14 (a present from my wife):

"It was a very hot potato at the time. We thought we'd put it to bed but to have it regurgitated now is pointless"

BBC "I'm going to the pub in an area where you can't get any mobile reception."
Reading boss Steve Coppell has a novel way to prevent any of his players being sold on transfer deadline day.

The guy is a genius.

We'll miss him badly when he's gone.

Steve after the Brum game.

Reporter: What significance does this win have on your season?

Steve: Zero significance.

Deadpan as hell.

Or the own goal Collins scored at the Wolves game.

Can't rememeber the exact quote what he saw in Doyle when he went to watch him in Cork.

He replied, he'd been drinking at lunch time and couldn't remember the game, but he'd had a good time so thought we may as well sign the lad...

Asked whether he would go anywhere given his team now don't have a game until 21 February, Coppell replied: "Croydon."
