Nice thrusting there!!

I have to say it is rather tempting, never seen us lose at Derby either.

After last years posturing* by the Derby fans, I would love it, just love it if we could seal promotion there

* by posturing I mean acting like complete fcuknuts even though their team had been beaten 4-0

Well said, and considering we went down as well you would have thought they would have taken the piss instead of try to get a fight going.

So we now have:

5 out of next 7 games at home (chance to rack up the points on the board), and

6 out of last 9 games away (not such a good run-in given our away form)

Run-in just got tougher

by The Goat was fed » 05 Feb 2009 15:43

Now Derby has been rearranged for April 21st, six of our final nine games are now away from home.

Not helpful.

Does it make any odds ?

We'll just get the home points earlier and therefore get 'ahead'.

We'd still need to pick up points away from home whenever the games were played and we'll still play 23 home and 23 away....

True ST, it's only a tough run in if we haven't got the points in the bank first.

7/9 points from our 3 home games this month will give us a good platform for March.

I guess we could get unlucky with more games falling into a bad spell of form, or players missing for whatever reason, but on the flip side of that it could all work the other way too.

I don't think it makes that much difference in the greater scheme of things.

If we win our remaining home games we'd have 82 points.

Has anyone worked out how many points we'd need for second place ?

If Preston on Saturday is postponed they might re-arrange it for the middle of all those away games.

And it's problem solved !

One more than the team in third place?

Hopefully February will be all wins. Dropped points will really cost us, but i don't think we'll have any problems getting 9 out of 9 points.

Same with our GD.

Surely moving Derby back automatically counts as making our run in easier. They are uttershit.

But only one of our 8 remaining away games is against a team currently in the top half of the table (Palace and they are only 12th) so it should not really matter when we play them

I wouldn't say that. They have some good players, have beaten United recently and seem to be picking up a bit of form.

Coming back from 2-0 down against Forest was pretty special.

Plus the closer to the end of the season the more desperate for points they'll be as they'll be more deeply embroiled in the relegation battle.

Well unless they pull away which I think there is a good chance.

None of the other teams down there have anyone of the quality of Commons and Hulse.
