Pitch should be fine, travel issues won't come into play because RFC have your cash already ... but -4 overnight temps will turn the slush outside the stadium into an ice rink. If it doesn't thaw early enough, the health and safety issues this will create could well see this game postponed.

They do appear to be trying to plan ahead as much as possible. However, if it does snow a lot, grit alone is virtually useless - something our wonderful national and local administrations seem to fail to realise! The club talk of a snow clearing machine but I get the impression that is for the pitch.

I suspect that the undersoil heating (which keeps the pitch at about 10 degrees) will mean unless we have way more snow than we've had so far (which I don't think is forecast) there won;t be any snow on the pitch. Also I'm not sure what effect a machine would have on the turf !

I'd be fairly sure the machine is for the roads, but seeing as the snow has virtually gone anyway I don;t think there is an issue...
