Got a text from the club saying they fully expect the game to go ahead.

Also Noel's back from injury, but Lita's likely to start.

yuomi whilst im flattered you rate the colective opinion of HNA above that of the meteorological services provided elsewhere i would suggest that, as well as being a tad better funded than our methodology, theirs might also be a mite more accurate.

perhaps?

have you considered consulting some sort of clairvoyant? maybe dabbling in the occult? getting going with the divining rods?

..... and as if by appointment, along comes the perfect example of the difference between a typo and completely uneducated spelling and grammar.

Whatever ...

Anyway, back on to the fixture. Pitch should be fine, travel issues won't come into play because RFC have your cash already ... but -4 overnight temps will turn the slush outside the stadium into an ice rink. If it doesn't thaw early enough, the health and safety issues this will create could well see this game postponed.

Oh don't be silly. That would require forethought and planning and for them to say on the OS that they planned to do so .... They might even consider warning supporters that the gritted areas might still be a bit treacherous ... but wait .. they have done that so why is it only you, me a few others who have seen it??!!

Just a warning for anybody intending travelling by train from the West or North:
In addition to the current weather-related problems, on Saturday there are engineering works taking place between Reading, Didcot and Oxford.
There will be bus services in place, and a very limited local service, not calling at Pangbourne.
Check here for further details:

That's two words. It's spelt "undersoil" too. ;)

They do appear to be trying to plan ahead as much as possible. However, if it does snow a lot, grit alone is virtually useless - something our wonderful national and local administrations seem to fail to realise! The club talk of a snow clearing machine but I get the impression that is for the pitch.

I suspect that the undersoil heating (which keeps the pitch at about 10 degrees) will mean unless we have way more snow than we've had so far (which I don't think is forecast) there won;t be any snow on the pitch. Also I'm not sure what effect a machine would have on the turf !

I'd be fairly sure the machine is for the roads, but seeing as the snow has virtually gone anyway I don;t think there is an issue...

The British education system(apostrophe), ladies and gentlemen(apostrophe), the envy of the world(full stop).

lol, I have to laugh.

Your correction is wrong.

Firstly, a forum doesn't require someone to be word/grammar/etc perfect.

Secondly, if are going to patronise someone at least do it correctly.[/quote]

If we are going to be pedantic, then the correct version is:-

The British education system, ladies and gentlemen, is the envy of the world.

Otherwise removing 'ladies and gentlemen' will give you - The British education system the envy of the world.

If I was going to correct someone's correction, I'd definitely consider doing it correctly.

Several words -- doesn't clean up the approach road, the seating, the steps, the footpaths etc etc etc.

It's people with your levels of common sense who are why the country is on its a*se. All that is needed is care to be taken by spectators - years ago these games would never have been in doubt and the world didn't end.
