It tends to be the 'Usual Suspects' who say stuff like that. We are going through a bad patch at the moment. Do you really believe that we will continue like this, or will we get back to being what many other teams have described as the best in the Division?

It's odd that the usual suspects continue to shoot the messanger on this thread rather than vent their spleen at the Coppell Out, i'm not going to any more games until he goes, merchants on other threads.

Sorry you don't like the message but pretending it's not happening isn't going to help you feel any better.

I'm sorry Schards, but the message as cointained in your original post is simply not correct.

Denver Royal It amusing to see some people come on this thread and pile on against Schards.

And then those same people go to other threads and make Schards' case for him.

Like this:

'We're still have the same ffffffing problems as this time last year. Manager isn't up for it, players aren't up for it, the same old faces are picked despite their form and tactics are rubbish against teams that have figured us out.'

They say stuff like "We're making the same mistakes as before...playing long ball and hoofball etc...not utilizing the transfer window...how Coppell - true to form - is good when things are going well, but a mare when they are not, just as he always has been...how Harper is the same ole Harper with the same shortcomings...etc".

Even if we get promoted, how would we fare? Honestly, is this team better than the team that went up to the Prem before? If we didn't spend then, would we now? Premiership wise, which team needs strengthening the most? That one or this one?

I don't beleive that I've posted on this thread before, but am quite happy for someone else to check.

Royal Lady When he wrote it in NOVEMBER that was probably a fair comment, when he started the thread in SEPTEMBER we hadn't exactly set the League alight, and since NOVEMBER we've got progressively worse - can't score a goal, couldn't beat Bristol City yesterday, hence his comments.

So, what you're saying is that your husband has every right to change his mind. Twice. Thank you for clearing that up.

Basically, RWC, the straw you seem to be grasping is that, for a portion of the season, one word of the original post was wrong.
If it gives you comfort, i'm happy for you.

No, pretty much everything in the original post remains wrong.

Of course neither yourself nor your lady wife have bothered reading the critiques of your original post (and she has the cheek to say others don't read things !)

No, I'm merely pointing out that you've changed your mind twice in this thread. It's not a single word. We haven't even started on:

Schards#2 I think we need to get used to mid table championship football at the very best until there is a sea change at this club.

I understand where you're coming from and, as I 've always stipulated, have some sympathy with your original post. It's just it's plain, for whatever reason, we are not a mid table championship club and this season has been far from dull. You're just wrong. Sorry Schards, no amount of semantics is going to prove you otherwise.

Thus proving my point that people should read threads before shooting from the hip. Denver Royal quite clearly stated that the above posts were made on OTHER threads.

Not the case, he was saying that people come on this thread and pile on against Shards despite raising their own objections on other threads, then quoted me. As I haven't come on this thread before and happen to agree with at least some of what Shards has said, I find that quite annoying.

I don't blame you for not posting on here if you're partially in agreement with Schards, you'll be lambasted by some bloke who hasn't been to a game in years, and another one who likes to argue the toss whatever the subject. I apologise for getting gist of Denver's post incorrect by the way.

Not on this thread no. There's plenty of other subjects where I don't agree with Schards and vice versa - however, on most other threads you don't get the degree of visciousness that one does on this one.

Schards#2 So, seven and a half hours without a Reading player scoring.

Is it time for everyone to accept that watch Reading IS a whole lot more dull and uninsiring than it has been in recent years?

Embrace that humble pie guys.

Good to see at least one RFC fan enjoyed yesterday.

That's another fallacy that is wearing a bit thin now too! If he WANTED us to lose and be mid-table mediocrity he certainly wouldn't bother to games home and away, let alone buying a fricking season ticket. He WANTS us to do well, as he has for the last 30 odd years. Plank.

Going to have to disagree there, it's been the dullest season for several years. As for inspiring.... ...please

Would you accept that you might not best positioned to judge given that I understand you haven't witnessed a kick of it?

Well then perhaps he could stop gloating everytime we lose. Plank indeed.

When all else fails, shoot the messenger.

Oh, and LOL at that wonderful source of entertainment - Woodcote Royal whose opinion seems to be:

NO it's not dull
No it's not uninspiring
YES we are making progress

YES Coppell should be sacked
YES i'm going home when we go 2-0 down after 47 minutes
NO i'm not going again until he's gone.

Nothing like consistancy

I think even from Belfast he can judge whether we are mid table or not.

He's also pretty capable of deciding whether Coppell still has any desire and whether JM's heart is still in it.

He's probably in as good a position to judge as someone who took an entrenched position some months ago and and will cling to it come what may.
