Reading vs Cork City

Cork to take on Reading
2009-02-20 22:20:25
By Alan Smith

Cork City will travel to Berkshire in the coming weeks to take on English Championship side Reading.

With former players Kevin Doyle, Shane Long and Dave Mooney in the ranks at the Madejski, Paul Doolin’s side will play Steve Coppell’s outfit at the club's training ground.

According to Cork owner, Tom Coughlan, the game will be played on the 11th of March, which means the Leesiders will already have played their opening League encounter against Sligo Rovers.

Cork will then play St. Pat's two days later in their first league game at Turner’s Cross.

Presumably a behind closed doors game. Shame would be worth going.

11th March?? Has anyone seen the fixture list for "around" that date??? .

I guess it'll be the reserves playing them then.

We have fixtures around that date too, so I can only assume it'll be our reserves also. I can't understand this.

With these games:
3 Mar Sheff Wed A Championship
7 Mar Plymouth A Championship
10 Mar Charlton H Championship
14 Mar Ipswich H Championship
17 Mar Doncaster A Championship
...I reckon that with some of our reserves actually being extremely close to being 1st teamers this "Friendly" will only turn out to be a tour of Hogwood, with maybe a spot of lunch, taking Cork out to The New Mill, Eversley, or if they are unlucky, The Bramshill Hunt

Genuine question, how many internationals in your reserves?

Dan Harding played for England Under-21, and Kelly has played for RoI U-19s.

You obviously haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Any updates on this?

basically a fringe team as was pretty obvious
no way would any first team starters be involved after a game last night
could be interesting to see how the guys do
a good preformance from anyone could get a recall to a faltering line up
