Not entirely sure why Harper seems to be being scapegoated for the poor display last Saturday, but the real weak link has got to be Kebe. It's interesting why no-one has investigated just why he was out on loan at French 2nd division side Bologne when we bought him!?

Well , he has trully be found out this season. The guy is ball greedy, lazy, can't tackle, has poor distribution and dreadful crossing and these are just some of the areas in which he is seriously lacking. Please can we see Kebe replaced on Saturday as I for one, still cannot understand why Henry has been sent out on loan again.

I would agree that Harper should be dropped to the bench, but I'd also like to see S.Hunt dropped and Doyle on the bench with N.Hunt and Lita starting up front. If Bikey and Hanheman are fit to return, so much the better!

LOL- not another one!
i just dont see it myself
having seen the game-i fail to see why kebe is even being mentioned-anything that was good came through him, and he was teh only one to find a striker in the box with passes/crosses, the only player to reach the byline, the only player to take the ball past someone, the only player to outpace someone
personally i fail to see how any of its kebes fault.
IMO almost every player except armstrong/pearce/doobs(goal aside)was worserer than the mighty kebster

ball greedy?

he always looks to release it- if anything i think he backs out of running at players too often to pass back to rosi etc

lazy/cant tackle- saw him in our own half alot in teh last game, and in the last few
ditto for tackles/challenges for teh ball

distribution in open play is bettwer than any other winger here(whether thats a comment on the general quality fo the squad ill leave up to you)

henry was sent on loan, becuase kebe is better, and proven it, so that he would be fit and ready when needed

"In a late change to the team, Jay Tabb has been replaced in midfield by Irish youth international Gary Frewen."

In addition to this, on a number of occasions Kebe was in an excellent position, but Doyle held onto the ball for too long and didn't release him. He also connected with a sweet volley that was goal bound but was blocked by the Brizzle defenders.

Have to agree with what you say about Kebe. He has looked far more effective than S Hunt for example, in recent games. I sometimes wonder whether I have been watching the same game as many posters on here.

just think you get blinkered by your own ingrained opinions

i probably miss alot of the negatives in kebe cos im just not looking for them
likewise in reverse for the kebe haters

but i just dont see him being anyway near to blame for poor performences recently

I'm surprised at Nezhen asking whether Kebe's loan had been 'investigated'.

It seems to me fairly obvious why he was out on loan.

He's hugely frustrating, somewhat inconsistent, technically flawed and has either not been very well coached or hasn't listened to what he's been told.

Balance against that his extreme pace, natural ability, unpredictability (the positive way of looking at inconsistency) and attacking instinct.

If he played consistently to his best he wouldn't be with us. He's as good as most of the Premiership wingers in terms of ability but he falls down on the application.

For some managers the negatives would outweigh the positives and they'd move him on. We've seen his like at Reading before in Michael Gilkes who became a cult hero so I'm surprised we aren't a little more understanding. We did used to moan about Gilksley, perhaps Kebe needs to retire before we realise what was good about him....

I also sometimes wonder if I was at the same game as some of you. Kebe is a bit frustrating at times because he is good and bad but overall he was once again one of our best players on Saturday and created a couple of great chances that Lita failed to convert. He certainly looked infinitely more threatening than SHunt.

As for Harper the reason he has taken so much stick is that he was anonymous at best and that was as far away from a Captain's performance as you could see anywhere. And I say that as someone who has been a great supporter of his over the years BUT this season he has been consistently poor and I really don't think he wants to be here anymore - as for me he is the shadow of the Harper of past seasons.

I think this is a very good summary on Kebe. I think he has shown signs of improvement since he has been here, however, and in time he may yet develop into a top PL player and truly be the Malian Ronaldo after all. Only time will tell but he does deserve our support as to me he always gives 100%.
