Forest Match Thread sponsored by Steve Stone

Reading (4-4-2): Federici; Rosenior, Armstrong, Duberry, Pearce; Matejovsky, Gunnarsson, Kebe, S Hunt; Doyle, N Hunt.
Subs: Hahnemann, Cisse, Tabb, Harper, Lita.

Nottingham Forest: Smith; Wilison, Lynch, Chambers, Morgan; McGugan, Moussi, Cohen, Anderson, Earnshaw; Tyson
Subs: Gamble, Thornhill, Breckin, McCleary, Heath

Marek and Bryn are the only changes, possibly a tad predictable.

I don't know much about the way Forest play this season but with Tyson and Earnshaw in the side, I would expect them to go 4-4-2 unless Tyson is going to drop back and play on the wing?

That'll fcuk up our midfield then, Marek likes to play high and spread balls out, and with 3 in there, he'll be man marked and they'll have one spare

Interesting, although looking at that team he must be one of, if not the longest serving player in that starting line up

Hunts longest serving, and Gunnarson, and Pearce = future captain.

Exactly as I thought it would be. We ended the game well against Brizzle so if we can continue in the same fashion I think we can get an early goal to calm the nerves.

Doyler actually joined before both of them and is the longest serving player in the team today. I remember because the Doyle signing made me optimistic for the new season but that went after we signed some reject from Brentford. Delighted that I was proven wrong!

Oh dear - I hope they prove me wrong....

WTF is the giraffe on crack still there?

And as much as I love Boris, I just don't think he has the motor for the holding player any more.

Would have preferred to see Burger King.

Still, SC seems to have taken on board comments about his love child.- and I'm not refering to Leroy.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bikey and Pearce together. Both decent on the ball and may helps us play it more on the ground. Both a bit inconsistent and error prone though, which I guess is why Doobs is still in.

And forgot to add, Pearce didn't sign his pro contract untill 01-07-2006 although he has obviously been with the youth team considerably longer.

Doyle deserves the captaincy, I think.
He's probably one of the most influential characters in the sqaud and certainly one of the most important.
Good man.

Also happy to see Matejovsky and N Hunt return to the squad.
I'm now confident we will win.

He will definately lead by example commitment wise but whether he is vocal enough I am not so sure.

I think one of the reasons Coppell made him captain was that he knew Doobs, Pearce and Rosey are vocal without the captaincy. Hopefully Doyle will raise his game with the band on his arm!
