If we can draw, It would be slightly relieving.
Still not satisfactory, though. We should win.

The frustrating thing is to take 6 points from Wolves, yet drop 5 from Southampton and as it stands 5 from Forest. The team has shown in patches all year that its a class above the division yet since the new year we're just sat in first gear.

I really don't know what the answer is, perhaps get USA and Murty back in to just add some experience/passion in the side? I realise that neither are neccesarily better then Rosie and A-Fed but we need some sort of spark and heart :(

SteveRoyal The 'Coppell Out!' thread will be flooded with more posts after this match... :|

March 1st tomorrow and only 2 months left of the greatest era of our clubs history. Coppell wont be here next season. How anyone can want Coppell is out is ridiculous.

SteveRoyal We are simply not on form.

Are any of the top 3?
Must be something in the proverbial water.
But still very very poor, there can be no excuses for this result, none whatsoever.
Only good thing about today are the fact that both Wolves and Cardiff lost today.

i am a big fan of steve coppell

but why the oxf*rd did we, yet again, try and counter a five-man midfield by deploying the same tactics that have failed us miserably for the last month and a half?

it is inexcusable to lose this second game on the trot at home, it is inexcusable to go so long without scoring a single goal, without changing tactics even slightly. a change of personnel will not suffice. if we can't mix it up and counter tactical threats, then we don't deserve to go up, simple as that. it almost feels as if we are just expecting to batter teams into submission with our superior efficiency - well, that may have worked when our wingers were on form, but when they aren't, and when our midfield pairing is stifled, defeats to nil are going to be inevitable.

sort it out, and fast. if we go 4-4-2 in the next game, i am going to kill somebody.

Kitson12
Wimb Not much to say, from the sounds of people on here, and reading the BBC text it seems a typical huff and puff effort with no reward.

With every game this season reminds me more and more of 04/05 :(

+1

Agreed, however the difference is in 04/05 we were already near the bottom of the play-offs, possibly drifting out. Today Wolves lost at home to Plymouth, Cardiff lost at Southampton. Bristol City were held 0-0 at home by Blackpool. Sheff Utd and Birmingham play each other tomorrow, at least one will drop points. However bad we're doing we keep being offered more and more chances and we have time to sort out our goal scoring problems. We'll get scrappy one and the rest could follow. I'm also wondering if having a few matches away from the Madejski Stadium could help the players play with less pressure on them and relax more, and it will only take a couple of games for confidence to return.

Today we played far better in the first half than we did against Bristol City at any stage last week. Kebe missed a sitter, we had good penalty appeals turned down, Doyle had a goal ruled out that was supposedly marginal. We conceded a great goal against the run of play and we responded very badly to that, but that could well have been a confidence issue.

I'm still firmly in the RTG brigade. Other teams are giving us the chance to sort this out, and despite what some people on here practically all of our squad have shown at some stage in the last 12 months that they are capable of doing better. We can call upon the likes of Bikey, USA, Tabb (Coventry's player of the season), Lita, Long, Harper, Cisse and even Murty if we recall him. In terms of form, and squads and all factors, I wouldn't currently swap our position with anybody in the league.

I wouldn't disagree with wht you say rhoyal, but whilst we have all those players you mentioned on the sidelines waiting for the opportunity to play, then why on earth when we have been pretty dire over the past 9+ matches haven't they been used its the same old "not changing a struggling team" garbage that we have become used to !
