This is what I have been thinking, all this ranting that he burnt his bridges.. what he actually did was tell the truth. Anyone remember the "baby Bentley" comments by Alan Curbishley after we tonked the Hammers in our first season up? Kitson's comments were along similar lines.

my opinion is ssc thinks he is going to leave at end of the season even if we go up. he wants to complete the job and do everything in his ability and getting kits and blakey back is brilliant.he will do anything to get us back up

If nothing the return of Kitson and Blakey will give the fans a lift, which we've deperately needed in the last 2 months. Personally I can't wait to see them both start, which I'm sure will improve quality.

It's a gamble by Coppell, but I can't fault him for trying something.

My only worry is that Kits hurt his knees getting this move. Must have been some serious begging going on there, esp after Coppell's comments when he left.

Lita's obviously burnt bridges again NHunt and Longy have their short comings, as does Kits, but he's different and proven at this level.

Oh and LOL at Coppell only buying players who have played for him at Reading now....

because they're both better than what we've replaced them with.
and, in Kitson's case, they're significantly more effective in this league and the one above than the player that didn't get his transfer out last summer.

How exactly? They were two blokes well past it, these are two players, one in their late 20s who know the club inside out.

As loan signings go at this stage of a season they are the most sensible signings that could be made IMO.

Delighted by Little's return.

Kitson's? I should be happy, this bloke has one of the best goal record's ever at this club, he's the sort of player we've missed with his height and presence and more importantly his goals. BUT he was a major reason in the break up of that famous Reading team spirit last season, his childish like behaviour and bust ups with a few members of the squad I know irked Coppell from what he said at the end of season forum. I must admit when we sold him for £5.5million I thought it was the best deal ever done by this club. I personally doubt Kitson due to injuries and a few other things wil ever get back to the level of a couple of years ago.

He should still be more than good enough in this league, he should still be able to contribute but signing him back permanet and all the rest? How is signing back the players that got us relegated who are now all another year older going to progress this club on the field?

It is essential that kitson doesn't upset the apple cart here in this loan spell, I don't think he will. This I think may even seem a bit humiliating for him, went off back tot he Premiership with a big fee like the big shot he thought he was only to come back months later without a goal to his name this season right back to where he started from.

I really hope this works out, I will personally give him a big cheer when he returns on the pitch but I can't help but feel this is a gamble that ourmanager may have just been better off avoiding and looking elsewhere.

BFD. He has been a total flop at Stoke and in my view we have seen the best of Dave Kitson. I am not a great believer that players and managers who return to their previous clubs are a success.
I think this is a short term gamble linked to the signing of Little on loan to try and gain automatic promotion and avoid the playoffs but I can't seriously believe the club think Kitson and Little are capable of playing in the Premiership again, unles of course this is another 'cheap' option by Mr Mad.

Time will tell and I'll reserve judgement if and when these two play.

One thing not seen mentioned is he actually what we need?

I say that because as discussed my many elsewhere, part of our problem at the moments seem to be our midfield 2 and full backs playing deeper. When Kits tries to play like Teddy Sherringham, he comes very deep. Is that not gonna add to our problem of playing too deep? Which is exactly what happened last season.

Hopefully Kitson's quality will just be too much for the Premiership.
