CMRoyal
Smoking Kills Dancing Doe One thing not seen mentioned is he actually what we need?

I say that because as discussed my many elsewhere, part of our problem at the moments seem to be our midfield 2 and full backs playing deeper. When Kits tries to play like Teddy Sherringham, he comes very deep. Is that not gonna add to our problem of playing too deep? Which is exactly what happened last season.

Hopefully Kitson's quality will just be too much for the Premiership.

Any Minute Now

I don't think it is or was the whole team playing too deep that's the issue, it's the gap between midfield and forwards. This is alleviated somewhat when Matejovsky and Gunnar play because there's more of a diamond about the midfield shape. But we lose a bit defensively playing that way. With Kits playing as a deep-lying forward, Marek would presumably drop back a bit, meaning there's more cohesion between defence and attack. That would be the theory, anyway.

Fair point about a fit Little being the key.

Gordons Cumming I wonder what Long, Lita N.Hunt/S Hunt, Kebe, Tabb, Mooney, Harding, Henry are thinking right now?

Long - "I really must go to confession, it's been a couple of weeks"

N.Hunt/S.Hunt - "still got time for a few more games of Call of Duty before we have to go to the ground"

Kebe - "sacre bleu, this Glen Petit, il n'est pas plus vite"

Tabb - "I wish I was a little bit taller, wish I was a baller, wish I had a girl who looked good I would call her"

Mooney - "the famine's over? Well, I might go home in that case"

Harding - "I really miss my dad, Matthew"

Henry - "being this close to Bermondsey has really helped me appreciate the tragedy of Jade Goody"

Tilehurst Mike BFD. He has been a total flop at Stoke and in my view we have seen the best of Dave Kitson. I am not a great believer that players and managers who return to their previous clubs are a success.
I think this is a short term gamble linked to the signing of Little on loan to try and gain automatic promotion and avoid the playoffs but I can't seriously believe the club think Kitson and Little are capable of playing in the Premiership again, unles of course this is another 'cheap' option by Mr Mad.

Time will tell and I'll reserve judgement if and when these two play.

These signings make a complete mockery of the transfer window, [ as Coppell has pointed out before ].
Kitson signs on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move in the summer. How is that not a transfer ?
Anyway. I hope he adds something. I'm sure he'll show some humility. Is his driving ban finished ?

As for next season. Maybe they'll stay, but we'll need a complete over-haul if we go up, and if we don't, many will leave. Either way it'll be a very different squad next year.

"Yay, Premiership wages next year! I can get me a Bentley!", or something along those lines.

Injuries might prevent it from happening but a Championship team with Matejovsky feeding Doyle, Little and Kitson should be far from dull or...

We've missed Kits' intelligence. He's not pacey but he's probably one of the most likely to be on Marek's wavelength.

I hope

The club sent a text 10 minutes ago: "Royals confirm that the club has agreed with Stoke City to sign striker David Kitson on loan until the end of the season subject to the usual formalities"

Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere else but is anyone else very very surprised by this.

SC gave the impression at fans forum he was annoyed with Kits comments after he left. Also I think Murts said something similar on his radio show.

With Long seemingly coming into a bit of form and I cant imagine NHunt being dropped completely. So we will need to accommodate 2 strikers on the bench?

BTW imo Kits is better than both NHunt and Long, but it seems like he was poor for team spirit last season and we are allowing him back into the squad.

Huge step backwards IMO. Very, very disappointing.

This smacks of desperation to me. Last time we bought Little in on loan to get us up, we stayed down. Last time we threw money at "experienced" players to get us up (Ferdinand & Keown) we stayed down. Just seems a little like we're admitting we aint got the answers to get us out of the rut we're in. Not only that, what sort of message does it send to Noel Hunt, Tabb etc?? Not good for the future of the Club in my honest opinion.
