One that plays football different to what we are currently doing please as we have become a predictable boring unit no better than a mid to bottom table team.

Hahneman
Bikey (or Kelly) Duberry Pearce Armstrong
Little Cisse Tabb SHunt
Kitson Long

Reasons:

Federici - lost confidence, does not command his area or his defence
Rosenior - I don't want Bikey at right back but I do want Rosenior out of the team
Matejovsky - we just can't afford to carry him in matches
Doyle - needs a rest. Put him on the bench.

It won't happen as my team involves too many changes but I would like to see one or two of them on Saturday.

I'll tell you what, we haven't got much to fear from Cardiff having seen them capitulate at Norwich last night. They were awful.

Federici

Rosenior Bikey Pearce Armstong

Little Matejovsky Cisse Tabb

Long Kitson

Can't believe the amount of people calling for Hahnemann to return, Federici has done nothing wrong and can't help having to play in front of a defender who leaves him exposed time after time. Hence why Bikey is in for me, Tabb did more in half hour than Hunt has done since December. Doyle shite again, was really impressed with Long last night  so Kitson to partner him upfront.

I was actually sickened by last night's result.

When I left the Norwich game a mate phoned me and said Reading had won 2-1, not realising the game had kicked off 15 minutes later than anyone else.

It was only later when I got home and pulled up the tables on the internet that I realised something was wrong with our points total. Then I checked the results and found the ghastly truth.

So I spent around 90 minutes luxuriating in the fact that we had won before my hopes were cruelly dashed. Heads should roll for this.

I thought Blakey and Matejovsky were on the same wavelength last night - they will add a new dimension as that understanding develops. I worry about the defensive frailties of the CM. It puts more pressure on the CBs and the GK, especially when Rosenior doesn't track back fast enough to prevent attacks down the (opponents') left wing. Blakey was unable to play as wide as we are used to seeing him play because he had to prop up the midfield. So, I think we do need Harps back in place of Cisse. I think Doyle needs a rest, although a lot of his problems last night were caused by the way the ball bobbled about on the uneven surface. I'd give Kits a start with Long or Lita with the other one on the bench. I would not partner Kits with anyone he had never played with before (but then I'm not SC and I haven't watched Ipswich play so don't know their strengths and weaknesses).

Ipswich will park the bus just as they did against Wolves last night. All we need is just enough strength at the back not to get caught on the counters and deploy as much creativity up front as we can to create as many chances as possible. So I'd go with:

Fed
Murts (even on 1 leg - or Rossy if we have to) Bikey Pearce Stretch
Harper
Doyle Mats Tabb
Long NHunt

Subs
USA, Cisse, Kebe (or if he's still crocked then Karacan), Blakey, SHunt

No tactical subs after 75mins please - there's not enough time to do any good. So get Kebe, Blakey or SHunt on for Doyle (if he needs the rest) and/or Tabb. Cisse for Mats if we're ahead and the game needs closing down.

Amazing how this thread proves the strength of our squad. Our reserve team would hold it's own in this division (if all were fit):

Federici
Murty Duberry Pearce Kelly
Kebe Karacan Cisse Tabb
Lita Long

What it perhaps proves is that we have a strong squad but not a strong enough first team?

If we want to beat Ipswich on Saturday then the team for that game simply has got to be:

GK: Hahnemann
RB: Rosenior (Although I'd prefer Murty if he's fit)
LB: Armstrong
CB: Bikey
CB: Duberry
RW: Little
CM: Harper
CM: Matejovsky
LW: Hunt
CF: Doyle
CF: Long

SUB: Kitson
SUB: Hunt
SUB: Cisse
SUB: Tabb
SUB: Federici

This team would beat Ipswich. But the team Coppell will select for that game will be: Federici, Rosey, Stretch, Doobs, Pearcey, Little, Cisse, Harps, Hunt, Doyle and Long....

Coppell will blame Matejovsky for our poor showings.

rg6royal
John Madejski's Wallet
rg6royal Fed
Ros Bikey Pearce Armstrong
Little Cisse Marek Kebe
Doyle Long

^^^ what he said

:)

Kebe adds pace to the side. Not sure why he wasn't even in the 16 tonight, must have been due to an injury? I know alot of Reading fans get frustrated by him but he does add alot to this team.

According to the text from the club he had a thigh injury. Having scored in the previous game i was expecting him to start with Little on the bench.
