bottom left hand corner
SteveRoyal I'm beginning to think Doyle may need to be 'rested' for a game.
Long has been playing better than him recently, so maybe at the weekend try Kitson/NHunt with long and Doyle on the bench.
Never, ever, ever going to happen.
Ever.

LONG on the bench

Hes picked up form and you are dropping him.

I think long and kits would be good kits heading through balls for long to latch on to.

What I think is meant here is that either Kits or NHunt partner Long up front. KD is relegated to the bench

Doyle is no captain, he couldn't coordinate his way out of a paper bag, so we would loose no leadership. Coppell even admits himself that there are currently no leaders on the field, which includes the golden child.

Agreed, Doyle is useless as a captain and that should be given to either Doobs or Bikey dependent on who starts. Doobs has the experience to be able to lead a squad and he would without doubt do a better job of it, he has age and experience on his side, where as Doyle has what?

Strikers never make good captains. Wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a new midfielder on loan until the end of the season, Coppell talking the other night about a leader in the middle. I see Quashie isn't getting in the Wolves squad at the minute

Doyle should be dropped, one goal in nine games. All our other strikers have been dropped for less, cannot question his workrate but we have enough workers, we need scorers. Long is the man in form  , so should be partnered by Kitson.

What beats me is this nonsense associated with the importance of a captain. What is the purpose of a captain? Why do we need a captain? Simple fact is that there should be 11 leaders on the pitch all taking responsibility for encouraging each other.

Harping on about a captain is pointless. Bit like saying that Reading Fans will only make noise if the right person starts the songs and chants off. We all know this is not the case as we dot make any noise at all!!!

Baines ^ Agreed. Doyle's presence in the team has been holding back Shane Long's development.

Now's the crunch time of the season and I think Long will rise to the challenge - it will be like making a new signing.

What a profound statement with not a hint of tongue firmly in cheek.

Agreed. I was too embarrassed for them to correct the people who thought that I was making a joke at Long's expense.

Finally, Doyle will be made to sweat as Shane keeps him on the bench a Long, long, long, long, long time.

Let me edit that statement:

* Long has been playing better then Doyle recently, so maybe try either Kitson or N Hunt up top with Long, moving Doyle to the bench.

My major concern for Saturday is that IF Kits plays then we will see even more hoofball. I would love to be proven wrong.

Why shouldn't Doyle be dropped? What is the justification for selecting him?

I guess being the top goalscorer.
He does try 100% nearly every game.
At the moment he is our captain.

I hope this is just a temporary change to freshen Doyle up.

Yeah, let's bow down to Coppell for the achievement of improving the club's league position by one place over 6 years.
