The first XI picks itself, in my opinion. We have no real cover for Rosey, so we have to pick him but apart from that the underachievers that must go are Doobs and S Hunt (who has let Stretch down defensively two games running, arguably costing us at least two points). Donny will play 4-4-2 and play very open, which should mean that Marek gets a final roll of the dice to really run a game. And tough as it is on Longy, only one forward combination has been productive this season so N Hunt to come straight back in to the team. And Glenda needs time in the reserves in order to get fit, so:-

USA
Rosey
Bikey
Pearce
Stretch
Kebe
Harps
Marek
Tabb
N Hunt
Doyle

Subs:- Fed, Cisse, S Hunt, Kits, Long

Marcus
Rosey
Stretch
Bikey
Pearce
Karacan
Cisse
Marek
SHunt
Kebe
Doyle

SUBS
AFed
Long
NHunt
Gunnar
Tabb

We've been lacking energy in the middle of the park, hence Karacan, with Cisse , and Marek slightly advanced - Wingers playing more tucked in than usual and supporting Doyle...And making hopefully more difficult for the opposition midfield to play through us..

howser ...

---------------------------------------Fed----------------------------------------

----Kelly-------------Pearce(C)------------------Bikey--------------Armstrong--

---Little------------Karacan---------------------Marek-------------Tabb/Kebe-

-----------------------------Hunt N------Doyle------------------------------------

Subs:-
USA
Rosenior
Kitson
Long
Harper

+1

(...but Armstrong captain .And USA to start...FWIW )

I think Rosenior has been terrible for a while now. His speed gets him out of trouble most of the time, but his touch and passing are woeful at the moment. Kelly looked decent enough against Wolves and improved as the game went on. We need to slow down and get our best passes on the pitch.

Donny always play 5 in the middle.

Birmingham beat them on Saturday at their place by changing their style to play 5 across the middle.

Guess what we'll do......?

FED
ROSENIOR BIKEY PEARCE ARMSTRONG
LITTLE MAREK CISSE TABB
DOYLE KITSON

SUBS: N.HUNT, LONG, FED, KEBE, GUNNAR

2 Strikers on bench as we always seem to go behind so might as well have attacking options

Really?

The only player who I think picks themselves is Chris Armstrong.

I could make a persuasive case for dropping any other player in the squad.

Unless Coppell leaves in the next 24 hours.

Play 4-4-2 with Marek +1 in the centre getting over run with our "slow as fcuk" centre backs getting left to mop up the pieces and failing abysmally. Donny become the umpteenth team this season to work out that we no longer have a spine and are, therefore, there for the taking.

Another defeat could produce the outside possibility of Coppell falling on his sword in Yorkshire thus saving the Royal county having to clear up a rather unpleasant mess.

I'm sure you could but I didn't mean "picks itself" in the cliched they're-all-playing-well sense. I meant that the replacement choices 'feel' obvious to me.

Apologies, so they do, but it's more of a fluid front 6 that can turn 4-5-1 into 4-2-4, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 or whatever they want. But it should still be open enough to give us a chance to play a bit. I hope.

for me there are 4 players that should always be on the team sheet if fit at the moment. The rest f@@k knows on current form.

GK - fk knows

RB - fk knows
CB - Bikey
CB - fk knows
LB - Armstrong

RM - fk knows
CM - Cisse
CM - fk knows
LM - fk knows

CF - Doyle
CF - fk knows

Thats a pretty strong team in my view

I'd play 3-5-2

I know a bit late for change but since this is a what you would do thread,

I'd have

Hahnemann

back 3 of Bikey, Duberry and Pearce

midfield 5 of Kebe, Karacan, Cisse and Matejovsky with Armstrong out on the left

Long and Doyle up front

Rosenior, Federici, S Hunt, Kitson, Little subs.

Thats the best team and formation ive seen so far, as its totally obvious our formation and player changes are not working.

Because they play 5 in the middle so i'd match them up whilst not trying to nullify us as an attacking threat,it would also give us more options in the middle hopefully stopping the aimless hoof and giving our defenders someone else to pass to. It gives us more youth and pace throughout the side. When we defend, Armstrong drops off to a more left back position with Bikey going to RB. Would be demanding on Kebe and Armstrong but they could both be replaced by Rosenior and S Hunt if they burn out.

Wouldn't really mind either Harper or Matejovsky in there, other one sub and also Rosenior or Kebe on the right. Think both could do it.

He'll never pick something like that but fortune favours the brave!

I'd suggest Birmingham beat them Saturday cos they were gifted 2 of the softest goals you'll see all year rather than any great tactical genius. I'm not convinced us changing formation with less than 2 days preparation to accomodate the 14th placed team in the Championship is the way forward. 4-4-2 with players actually committed to playing that way is still our best chance of picking up the required victories between now and the end of the season and our away form has been ok in recent weeks to be fair.

Of course it doesn't matter what system we play if only 3 or 4 of the players have the character to deal with the pressure of the situation!
