Vision Agree that regardless of what happens come the end of the season Coppell will walk away and like Skyline have thought that all season.

The process of rebuilding has already begun and therefore for me not gaining promotion this season isn 't quite the disaster and disgrace that some seem to believe.

As for a possible replacement, I like O'Driscoll at Donny. Another quiet and unassuming manager in the Coppell mould but with a particular penchant for good passing football and a track record for bringing through younger players of which we have a promising crop currently out on loan.

The only problem about getting a manager who is into 'good passing football' is that it'll take much longer to rebuild as we're completely not about that. The danger is that that sort of manager would be gone by Xmas, including Martinez.

Whoever it is I hope it is someone capable of building a team out of this little lot. Doubt there are many Championship clubs with as decent a bunch of youngsters as that list contains. Even if they would need a bit of experience to bolster them, I'd love to think they might be given a proper chance to establish themselves under a new regime, without the pressure of huge expectation.

The last 10+ years of investment and careful nurturing has given the club an opportunity to build a largely home-grown team; I suppose the chances are they would struggle but to see them achieve mid-table next season would be absolutely brilliant.

Federici / Hamer
Kelly
Bikey
Pearce
Armstrong / Golbourne
Henry
Karacan
Sigurdsson
Tabb / Kebe
Long / Robson-Kanu
NHunt / Church / Antonio

PS I know it is daft to think that Bikey will still be around next year but I can hope....

PPS IMO the long term future of the club is not dependent on being in the Premier League next year, but on becoming a club capable of generating its own playing staff from the activities of scouting and Academy development.

Judging by the early season cup games id say our crop of youngsters are far more in tune with a passing game than the more senior players. I see O'Driscoll as more likely to commit to a long term plan than Martinez.
