Almost on for his third IIRC. Scored two in the following home game.

Correct. He also got a brace in two consecutive games in November. What we learn here, is that 12 of Doyle's 17-18 goals this season came in 5 games. :|

No. 23.
Our only truly world class player, makes an impact whenever he plays.

And how did Armstrong get that many votes, this poll isn't rigged is it?? 8)
There aren't that many people on hob-nob.
Unless, cookie deletion an old trick!!

Glad to see that this board is not completely full of idiots. Though of course the official poll on the website will probably end up with Doyle as the winner

I have Stretch narrowly ahead, but Doyler would be a worthy winner in my opinion.

Armstrong for me. As for whether he's 'better' than Shorey, I think you have to look at them as having two different styles of play, so it's not really a question of 'better' or 'worse'.

Most improved player is going to be the real difficult one this year, as you could make a good case for a lot of the ones who've been mentioned already. At the moment it's Pearce for me, but if Long carries on playing as well as he did in his last two starts then he could even edge it.

Based on what? His performances this season against a lower level of opposition have been just as erratic as they were in the Prem

Based on similar a quality as Stretch in a way, in that he gives consistent 7 out of 10 performances. On top of that, he's hard working, holds the ball up well, has chipped in with a decent number of goals, he's always looking to create, takes a lot of punishment from opposition defenders without the remotest complaint, probably crosses the ball better than both wingers (Kebe and S Hunt, that is). He's anything but erratic, in my opinion.

Is it not a bit early for this?

If Kitson hits 7 or 8 goals between now and May he is the player of the season

Getting us promoted and swelling the RFC coffers

Surely even Kitson's greatest fans can't see him getting 8 goals in 10 games?!

If he finishes the season on 5 it's a pretty darn good achievement.

Maguire Good voting skillz people, although lol@anyone thinking he's better than Shorey.

His overall level of performance this season is better than than that of Shorey's for last season.

Well I started the thread originally, asking people as a prelim to the main award who did they think was player of the year. Slammed made it into a poll.

ALlhough that doesn't mean he's better than Shorey, who was arse that season and played well below what he is capable of.
