howser Dull, uninspiring pretty clueless, no ability to make a chance, that just about sums up another dire performance. Never looked like scoring or taking the three points away from selhurst park. On this and recent performance we are nowhere near good enough to go up or to even make the play-offs there are more determined sides who show the effort and desire to forge their season ahead, we just don't fall into that bracket.

In the overall context of the game, I agree. However, if we get the penalty we deserve and score early on, I think we would go on to win the game. We have a lack of confidence, I don't think that Palace deserved to win the game, they did make a lot of the running, but I don't think they were that good. Salako keeps banging on about how great Palace are, but they weren't really. Granted, we weren't either, but I'd say that is a good result for us, especially as the ref was so poor and most of the big decisions wen't their way.

It is still in our hands, we can do this.

My thoughts are Gordon that we might not have lost many of these recent matches...........but our play is dire, again we haven't created a thing in the match, our midfield, whatever combination is selected doesn't have the guile to create that bit of magic to win a match like this

Yes, you do spout it a lot, don't you?

Not half as much as Coppell or Rosenior.

You could at least try to be objective for once.

seahawk10 At least he only gave Doyle a yellow there.

And we should be grateful?!!

Even Andy D'arsehole couldn't have conjured a red out of that one, player miles from goal, out wide and god knows how many covering players.

badly as we are playing lately, we'd have to get no more than 4 or 5 points from 7 games to not make the play-offs. Preston are 6 points behind, with a far worse goal difference, with only 6 games left.

There's pretty much no chance of us getting 3 points ahead of Birmingham come the last day, so the target has probably got to be getting within 3 points of them, so a win would take us up.

The play-offs would be a write-off though. I don't think there's enough fight in the team to get a result when the going gets a bit tough.

I thought it was pretty obvious.

I used up all my sincerity slagging Stephen Hunt off.

I think Birmingham play Wolves next, give us another chance to close the gap.

I would settle for being level on points and therefore just needing a draw but I think getting to that position be a miracle

Another dull and uninspiring game against a poor team in this terrible division.

Shots on target - 0

On the plus side, Rosenior is suspended for next week. On the down side, we're going to be saddled with Hunt and his wages for years.

If only we had some exciting youngsters like Palace. Of course we did, but they're either sold for a pittance (Cox) are farmed out on loan.

I've read a lot of anti-Steven Hunt sentiment on these boards over the last few months but, as I don't get to view that many games, I try to refrain from being over-critical of players. However, on the strength of that effort,I agree: Hunt is a donkey that requires shooting and Chris Armstrong is not that much better!!

I think we'd have all taken 4 points from Doncaster and Palace away if they were offered last Saturday

2 clean sheets too, far from over

Agree about Hunt but disagree about Armstrong who many of us think is the only candidate for Player of the year.
As for today-what a waste playing our leading scorer wide-just because the set-up worked v Doncaster doesn't mean surely that we now have to play 4-3-3 (or 4-5-1 ,there's so little difference)every game?
The decisions seemed to even themselves out and to have lost Armstrong so early to a red card (another ref on another day might have given one)could have seen us getting no points rather than the one that could be very significant at the end of the season.

Thought i was the only one who noticed it, very shaky at the back lost his marker in the 5th minute and with a better header across goal it would have been 1-0, should have also been sent off. Nowhere near prem quality and he's being talked about as player of the season, says it all for me about the lack of quality in the squad.

But would we have taken 5 points from 4 games before the game v Charlton?
Our form this year is very close to relegation form but I am hopeful that with Kitson back and S Hunt no longer an automatic selection we still are very much in the mix.
