Thought i was the only one who noticed it, very shaky at the back lost his marker in the 5th minute and with a better header across goal it would have been 1-0, should have also been sent off. Nowhere near prem quality and he's being talked about as player of the season, says it all for me about the lack of quality in the squad.[/quote]

You'll allow him one bad game surely when somebody like Hunt has had about 30?

Row Z Royal
seahawk10 We still control our own destiny, that is all you can ask for this late in the season.

No we don't.

If we win all of our games and Brum win all of theirs then we finish 3rd.

Murky, the fame from Soccer AM has gone to your head. We play Brum last day of the season so that will see us on top of them. I forgot about Cardiff so it might not be so easy as winning out, but if we do I like our chances.

I see it as a point won but ...

LOL @ hunt at right back

Kitson should have won a penalty and I thought his shot wide second half was in

felt sorry for Long, Doyle and Kitson who were all put out of position

LOL @ hunt's crossing

Hunt really is struggling at the moment His set pieces are poor, he rarely beats a player although did do a "meg" today and he certainly is no full-back emergency or otherwise.
It may be a very useful point come May but we look far short of promotion candidates.
It looks like Wolves are up so its only second place realistically up for grabs.

Nor is he a left winger, or a footballer for that matter.

no course not, he played no part in our championship season when we went up, nor the year we finished 8th in the prem, no he no footy player. bs, he played im one of the best teams reading had in its history, beating our previous best ever finish. yeah he is struggling but you have a short memory.

I think you'll find that when we played our best football in that Championship winning season, Hunt wasn't in the team.

Maybe it's you who has the short memory?

i honestly dont know wtf is up with him, all those excellent free kicks early season now he cant seem to do anything. Dont think its a confidence issue because he keeps taking on players....

Whilst there's no doubting his effort, Hunt hasn't got the quality for a Championship promotion/Premier League side unless he's playing at 100% of his game week in, week out. He's done that in fits and starts, but the bottom line is that he's not good enough and we should've taken Sunderland's money and ran.

he is good enough, ust lacking confidence, same as harps and doyle, weird as they the experience pros but thats the case.
he played fine enough in the prem, both years, ans the championship season before that.

plus trappatoni still sees him good enough for ireland squad, and he is a top manager.

i agree at this time he isnt proving his worth, but no one is!

SHunt is this seasons Shorey, having a right old sulk because he didn't get his transfer and probably pissing off at the end of the season.

I think that's unduly optimistic.

No one's going to take on a player that poor on those wages, even if they get him on a free.

Which games did he miss, and what were the results?

Here you go:

Watford (a) 0-0
Burnley (h) 2-1
Coventry (a) 1-1
Norwich (a) 1-0
Hull (a) 1-1
Palace (a) 1-1
Norwich (h) 4-0
Sheff Utd (a) 1-1

So Hunt missed 8 games in 05/06, and we won 3 and drew 5 of them, the only emphatic result being the 4-0 win over Norwich in January.

So how did we 'play our best football' when Hunt wasn't in the side?

Is your memory poor Royalee, or are you just making throw away remarks with no basis in fact?

As Papereyes has pointed ot though SHunt was really a sub in that season with Convey and Little very much the first choice wingers.

There is a lot of individual players getting critisised around yesterdays result and performance, but at the end of the day it was a very very poor TEAM perfromance, individuals make mistakes, but yesterdays display was nothing about individual errors, it was about a side , with no confidence, passionless, that seem to have very little desire or effort to win. A side third in the table should be able to get at least one shot on goal during 90 minutes + time added on. Very dissappointing, though not totally surprising display, many say that our destiny is in our own hands, can we raise our game to finish second, I doubt it, and we certainly don't have, in the present side, the guts, desire or determination to succeed in the play-offs.
