Conspiracy Theory

by Terminal Boardom » 08 Apr 2009 15:19

Imagine the scene.

Last day of the season and Reading need to win to be in with a chance for automatic promotion. Not yet beyond the realms of reality.

Crystal Palace with our old mate Colin at the helm are at home to Sheffield United who, with a win, will clinch automatic promotion.

Now, would Colin love to prove a point and get one over Kevin Blackwell or is it just remotely possible that the opportunity to shaft Reading AND see his beloved blades promoted AT THE SAME TIME be too much of an attraction?

If we're in a situation on the last day where we don't control our own fate we deserve whatever happens.

Crystal Palace v Sheff Utd Prediction ;-)

Sheffiled Utd need to beat Palace on sunday to get the last automatic promotion place.

Now Mr Neil Warnock is the manager of Crystal Palace. He is a massive Sheffield Utd fan, former manager, etc.. Do you think he is going to stand in the way of Sheffield getting back into the Prem?

Cyrstal Palace 0 - Sheffield Utd 2... Playoff's for the Royals..

Stop building up hopes and just accept we are in the play-offs.

I'm sure a man of integrity would simply prepare his team to go out and play as if the result was crucial to them.

No chance of a change of manager before next Sunday at Palace I suppose ?

Are Palace this season's Pompey ?

I guess this is Reading related in so much as we rely on Palace getting something out of their game with Sheff Utd in order for us to clinch automatic promotion.... assuming we beat Norwich and Birmingham.

Let's wait until after tonight before speculating about whether Mr Warnock will field a youthfull team in order to give them experience for next seasons promotion push.

On the plus side of Colin playing the kids, if they are as talented as he claims (the way he goes on about them you would think he has been at Palarse with a direct involvement in the youth set up there and their development over the last six years...), and they are likely to play with no fear and freedom, then that could work in our favour.

So, I am going for a 1-1 draw.

Victor Moses gives the Stripy Nigels a half time lead and in the 88th minute Halford rises like a salmon to head a bullet og from a corner.

We win 1-0 with a 93rd minute goal by Shane Long.

Fingers crossed for tonight then!!

I know! Moses scores for Palace 1-0. Halford scores og. 2-0!
