Piss off Ian, come back when you know anything about football.

Royalee If you look since Madejski's been here we've given the likes of Quinn/Gooding, Bullivant and Burns far too long to sort things out before acting. Coppell's time is up and his limitations have been there for all to see.

If JM didn't give managers time we certainly would never have made it into the Prem because Coppell would have been sacked before 2005 and we may still be in tier 3 because Pards would have been sacked for either his early poor form or his promotion failure.

Either that or he wouldn't have got the job in the first place. Not that I'm surprised to see such a moronic arguement coming from you.

Nice comeback by the way. I never would have come up with one that good in a million years!

Do you actually go to any games or watch any football Ian? Your arguments about history and being grateful are ever so boring and if all in football held your view there would be no change and no promotions and relegations. I wonder what it's like in your own little world where mid table in the Championship is fine, it must be kind of like a constant Gordon Brown speech.

Yes I do. And clearly I know more than you, because we're about where I predicted (much higher than you did) and Derby aren't in the running for the play offs let alone champions.

I suggest you make some half decent predictions, before you start claiming you know more about football than me. Talking out your butt really doesn't help your case for being a hyper intelligent football genius.

I predicted relegation from November of last season and predicted a low playoff spot for this year although I'll have to admit I got the Derby one wrong. What did you make of today then seeing as you were there?

so royalee you say you never wanted ssc to stay but how could anyone have a bad word to say about him upto the wolves game where we beat them at home. yeah we had a few defeats but we were right up there and yes since then it has been woeful but every football club has these spells. without a doubt in my view no matter what division where in ssc will leave in the summer but with his head held high, if we would of taken all 3 points today we could still have been looking at automatic promotion! the problem is if a club has a couple of good seasons like we did getting promoted then in the first prem season missing out on the uefa cup a lot of supporters forget who we are and where we came from. expectations get ridiculously high. what is it you expect from this football club? im very dissapointed with how its gone since january and feel maybe it is time for a massive change around in the summer but i wont be calling for coppells head because he is sensible enough to realise he has done all he can for us and will walk out of the mad stad a reading legend!

When did I say I was there? I didn't because I wasn't.

He was sensible enough to admit his own mistakes last season. The problem I have is that he then went on to repeat them again this season. The puzzled looks and sombre head shakes in post match interviews. If you are the Manager, you are responsible for the teams results and performances. Don't stare at your feet saying "I don't know what is going wrong" and "I don't have the answers". Last season he decided that the best way to avoid relegation was to do nothing and "stick with what I've got" when the window opened. This year we have had a new twist on doing nothing about our slump in form. Lets do nothing again, you never know it might work this time. I couldn't take another season of Coppleitis with hopes and expectation built at the start of the season only to collapse after Christmas. Three times it has happened so far and he still does not have the answers. We may be lucky and stumble into the play-offs this season but. I can't see us beating anyone at the moment. I know it all sounds negative but I've just had enough. I would rather we had been average all season before sneaking into the play-offs happy to accept the chance of promotion it would bring. To win only two of your last thirteen games is not deserving of promotion in any form. If anyone wants him to stay then it is purley out of nostalgia.

A post Xmas slump is very common in football, ask Newcastle, who were sailing away with the Prem a few seasons ago, ask Watford, last season should have been a doddle for them after Xmas.

Still I hope that thoise that have done sod all but moan as soon as a game went against us do not celebrate shoul we miraculously get promoted.

I too would predict instant relegation, much the same as Stoke and Hull this season.

Royalee As I said back then, well done.

A bit premature that, still four points needed for a playoff place. The congratulations can start then.

brighton_royal Must mean he's off, surely?

Hope so. He's done a great job but we need fresh ideas and a clean slate. But he wont leave before the season's out.

I suspect there are many, many managers who don't have a clue why their side played so poorly on a given day. I don't understand why Coppell is so castigated for, simply, admitting this.

Probably because time and time again he admits he doesn't know how to fix it.

It's one thing to admit that you can't put your finger on the reason why your team hasn't performed but it's another to just sit back and let them repeat it week after week without much of a visable attempt to correct it.

i agree he shouldnt be slated for honestly, but the difference is a lot of those other managers manage to turn things round in a matter of weeks where as it takes Coppell months, and a summer.
