1871royals Armstrong should be POTY.

I do think he slightly overrated by a lot of fans. Defensively he is great but going forward he is absolutely shocking. Now the team is out of form we need to keep the ball and build from the back. You would expect the Fb's to be semi-cultured on the ball and start attacks but Stretch certainly cant do that.

Imo he slightly better than Shorey defensively, we have got to bare in mind we havent seen Strech in the prem. But Shorey was far superior going forward.

Defensively great? Come on, Armstrong does alright but I agree with the rest.
I wouldn`t argue that Armstrong should be in contention for this award, but doesn`t the fact that he is speak volumes about our decline?

If he had played more in the team, I reckon Alex Pearce would have pushed Armstrong close but I ahve to agree with the others Stretch is head and shoulders above the rest for POTY....there's practically no competition

Another iteration of this thread?

I feel a merge coming on.

However, Armstrong gets my vote on this thread, as he did on the others.

royalexile Armstrong without a doubt. I voted him MOTM at Burnley away and saw his potential but got laughed at when phoning in the fans verdict.

He settled in fast and became steadily more consistent as the season went on. I think he's scored this season also but it might have been an alcoholic haze.

Scored against Watford, I think. With a mis-hit.

Armstrong- most consistent performer throughout the season, always gives 110%, never lower than a 6/10-and mostly 7s/8s, good defensively, crunches into the tackle, and improving going forward, scored a couple(?),
and a top bloke.

Doyle-scored 18(?), always gives 100%, works very hard for the team, tracks back, but occasionally drifts out of form/the game

Nhunt-superbly consistent performer, 110% effort, great in the air, brave as hell, some very decent finishes, unlucky with injuries keeping him out for periods of the season

shunt-fallen off badly, but pre xmas he was superb, the best ive ever seen him play-even managed to get some crosses in

best young player ....pearcey, stepped in and looked accomplished when asked

S Hunt for me. If everybody is voting for Armstrong anyway, I will vote for the next best.

If i vote Bill Oddie there's a good chance he could come 2nd with everyone voting Armstrong.

Doyle is probably the most improved player as he couldn't score for sh*t last season and is in with a shout for player of the season. Armstrong is probably up there too but even he's been poor in some games. Great at defending, but lacks imagination when driving forward and often just hoofs the ball.

S Hunt would get my vote if the season ended in December and Kebe would've been most improved player if the season has ended then.

Fed should also get a shout - still can't believe Marcus is ahead of him.

 Jesus wept. And they say women know nothing about football. There is NO WAY on this earth that SHunt is the second best player for us this season. Second worst would be nearer the mark.

Armstrong by a mile, only because Inga got injured. I think the fact he seems to be the favourite highlights just how shite the so called star players have been. Harper, SHunt and Doyle have all been pretty poor and clearly want away.

borderline no-brainer this one, Armstrong's the only player to have kept his place in the side all season, to have maintained a level of form and is in the only position in the whole squad where people haven't mused about alternatives.

The fact that Arsmtrong is winning the popular HNA vote just goes to show how crushingly average we have become.

Armstrong is the right choice though, narrowly edging out Neil Collins.

If we all followed that logic, he'd come last!

Let's give him as big a win as he deserves - if nothing else, it'll send a message to the supposedly better players.

Doyle for me (sorry to upset the applecart). Loads of goals and still works tirelessly despite the crap players he has to work with.

The fact that his goals have dried up is as a result of Kebe putting most crosses in the stand and Hunt being a clueless prat.
