Agreed 100%, what a game. I really can't believe it's been 7 years now! One of the things I will always remember about that day was leaving the away end after an hour of celebration after the match (only seemed like 5 minutes mind you) and outside there was a guy trying to sell "Reading Fc, Cardiff Millenium Stadium Playoff Final 2002" Merchandise  .
The thing that set that apart from the promotion to the premiership in 2006 was that nothing seemed inevitable. In 2006 we were winning it at a canter and it had become more when we were going to win the league rather than if. In 2002 it was effectively a playoff final in which we were the away team (Brentford had only lost at home once all season) and on a poor run of form at the time, seemingly looking to throw away promotion. These factors including the previous years heartbreak in Cardiff made it all the more sweet. :P

P.s. What a goal!

Totally agree, whilst I had tears in my eyes at Leicester, nothing will ever surpass the shear joy when that equaliser hit the back of the net. In 2006 we all knew promotion coming at some point, that day at Brentford I felt it had been snatched away from us until Curo scored. Such a mix of emotions in such a short space of time!

Totally different emotion to me. Naturally I was ecstatic when Curo's equaliser hit the radio waves in my kitchen, but even before and during the Leicester game in 06, there was this niggling doubt that we were going to throw it all away. Also, we'd been at Championship level before. We'd never been to the Premier League.

LOL, how we were ever going to throw it away pre-Leceister? We were going up even if we lost every remaining game of the season. I wasn't at Brentford but I was listening to BBCRB at home and me and my Dad were jumping around shouting out celebrations as the goal went in. A season that started well, appeared to have been thrown away before we rescued it from the jaws of despair.

As a season I enjoyed 05/06 so much more than 01/02. We were incredible and we were looking up the Premiership, so long the promised land. However it never produced moments of euphoria that Curo's goal and the full time whistle did.

All I'm going to say for now is that I can see a lot of similarities between this season and 2 others. 04/05 and 01/02. 1 of those seasons petered out into the inevitable disappointment, whilst on the other season we got a bit of luck and pulled out the result when we needed it most. So long as we're in a play-off position don't give up hope for this season.

EDIT: I should mention that it's partly the hope that has made the past 2 months or so as unbearable as they have been. So maybe you should give up hope for your own good. It's not like me though.

I had just got back to the UK and a mate of mine got a ticket for me for the big screen at the Mad Stad. Losing the pics at the start of the second half was awful. Place went mental when Curo scored as did the town centre that night!

Cant believe that was 7 years ago..bloody hell.

I was at the mad stad for the big screen, being too lazy to enter the ticketing system where we had to use the royal snail or summat. Am I the only one that loved it..but also a sick, sick, sick part of me wanting another chance at a trip to Wembley (welll...Cardiff)?
