The only problem is that Brum V Preston is the late KO on Saturday - if Burnley and Cardiff have won their games at 3pm Preston will no longer be able to make the play-offs which could well deflate them.

5th or 6th would suit us better. If we are at home 2nd leg chasing the game we have Zero Chance.

Finish 6th and the home leg on a Friday night. Best time for any football match, let alone a play off.

Although the thought of going to Cardiff for the 2nd leg for their last game at Ninian Park & beating them doesn't really bare thinking about.

In my opinion the final two, possibly three, set of fixtures should have same-time kick-offs right across the board. That would have meant that the midweek matches that were played on Tuesday would have had to have been accommodated earlier in the season, but I'm sure that could have been arranged.

As for live TV? Either move all kickoff times away from 3pm Saturday or remove this anachronistic rule that says that live games can't be shown at 3pm on a Saturday. Either way, it seems unfair to give teams an advantage at this crucial stage of the season, even though we may actually benefit this time round.

Always agreed with that.

Serie A has the final 4 rounds of fixtures kicking off on Sundays 3pm to avoid any advantage being gained.

If Birmingham lose on Saturday we will know that a draw is no good to us at Norwich. Not only does that play to our advantage, is that fair on the other teams at the bottom who need Norwich to lose or draw? they might pick up 3 points as we throw everything at them with the scores level.

It wont change though. Its all £££ as usual, everything else comes 2nd.

quiet a clever deal by the FA that-probably just to avoid problems like that

Saints probably now have more incentive than ever to go for the win. They were pretty much relegated anyway, but would hope to have a good chance of bouncing back. Now they NEED to win their games so they aren't stuck in League 1 for two years simply because of a point deduction.
