Get the stewards prepared

by The Real Sandhurst Royal » 26 Apr 2009 09:28

The stewards will need to be well trained and prepared for the Birmingham game.

How many will go sick?

I think they are more than aware of upcoming issues if we get Cardiff in the play offs TBH.

Guy at work is a B'ham fan, think he might be involved with the big wigs as well. He's warned me to expect several thousand mad brummies coming down regardless of whether they have a ticket or not.

I'm not sure there should be much to be concerned about. Their support is no bigger or better than ours. Several thousand ticketless Brummies won't get near the ground unless they plan to tunnel in or have a teleporter.

Well the police couldn't deal with 70 bristol fans and a bus so expect a full on riot!

What's going to stop them going to the ground? They won't get in, but I'd be surprised if the Poliec were checking tickets before letting people out of the station. And that doesn't stop those who drive.

You're right about their support. It's been consistently a little smallr than ours for a few seasons now. Not sure about this year, but certainly the last 3 or 4. We have more STHs this year iirc.

There shouldn't be any problems inside the ground because Birmingham gave around 1/3 of their allocation to corporate entities. Quite amusing really, their biggest match of the season and the club screw over their most loyal fans. Apparently the RFC ticket office was inundated with complaining brummies asking why we'd only given them 1400 tickets, only to be told that we'd given them the full initial allocation as per normal and the issue was with their own club, not us.

So is there going to be a ticket check several hundred yards away from the stadium a la a Champions League final?

I doubt that TBH.

After watching there fans during the Preston game I would expect at least 3 pitch invasions, half a dozen coin throwing incidents damaged seats riot police and street battles in town after the game. Just the usual Birmigham last game of the season.

Following the nonsense that went on during that Preston game it is time that Birmingham were deducted points for the behaviour of their fans, 10 points from the star of next season IMHO.

Hope they're not expecting much in the way of corporate hospitality in the South Stand! LOL

There might not be a lot of difference in the size of the crowds but there is quite a gulf in the propensity to cause a lot of trouble!

Give us a clue then? How are the ticketless Brum supporters not "going to get near the ground"?

I'm struggling to see how ticketless Birminham fans are not going to get near the ground if there is not a check to differentiate between the ticketholders and the ticketless.

Checks have been made at railway stations in the past, and those getting on to the football buses, tickets to match can be shown there as well. Harder for those driving to be checked, I doubt there will be thousands coming along without tickets, tho as has been said those that do are likely to be a pain in the arse.

If we win at N'wich it will be one of the Sky games they folow, along with Palarse and sheff u iwould guess, so they might think drinking in town is an idea, but then they might stay in brum, to celebrate in their home town should they get promoted.
