SLAMMED
Schards#2 Isn't it amazing that the only people that don't think it's been dull are those that don't go to many/any games  .

Iv been to all but one home game this season, and 5 away, and i haven't found it dull.

Good for you

Perhaps SLAMMED is pissed by the time the football starts?

It's been dull and painful to watch since the turn of the year!

I must have been miraculously lucky to see the only games that weren't then.

At home yes. Get to some away games (Coventry and Palace excepted) and it's been quite different...

I know how you feel, Slammed. I'm the same and I was just looking for the thread where I could say this:

Oh wow! Can't believe the results yesterday! Well done Preston! Now Norwich and Birmingham are going to mean something and I can't wait!

That is all.

For me, watching Reading will never be dull. Even if we're playing like crap, i'll still be excited because i'll desperate for us to win.

'greed. If you're worried about going to a football match because it might be dull, then football is not the sport for you.

Agree, even if the football is "dull" the experience isn't. It's sometimes frustrating, disappointing and head-bangingly annoying but dull? Not once this season.

Amen to that brother.

Never understood all this moaning about it being dull. Watching my team fighting it out each week to get promotion which with only a week left to go is still possible. Anything but dull for me this season, appears that some people have let the last few years go to their head and now demand nothing less than perfection. how easy it is to forget where you came from eh......

As has been mentioned before it's also the occasion, the events surrounding the match itself that make it a jolly out. Yes it's been a rollercoaster ride of 'what if we'd won this, done that' but we are observers in something that is out of our control. In any season there will be the cherry picked memories that will stay with each of us as individuals. The laughter and in some cases the tears.

To me it's all about having a laugh,a beer with mates and a day out. Football is mixed up in that heady mix somewhere and i question the madness of following this team but it's the gems that make it worth it. It's a lifestyle i would hate to give up if i was really honest.

Lets face it, no one supports Reading to watch a team of great winners. We support Reading because it was/is our local club and the experience of following through the ups and downs is unbeatable.

I think dull is a bit kind really. Practically every game at home this year has been shocking.

Football matches = a good day out spoilt

Eh?

Maybe he's doing something else you gimp

Going to football > going to work/commuting/sleeping etc

It's all relative though and pretty much any "back from the game" thread this year will tell you how dull, relatively speaking, the football has been relative to anything seen for years and years. Other than the posts from those who weren't actually back from the game, of course.
