Royal Lady I'm considering a £10 bet on 2-1 Kitson again today.

Why do people do these silly bets?... complete mugs bets. Bookies laughing all the way to the bank. They give such short odds compared to the actually probability of the bet actually happening.

Only one type of bet that the bookie hates and thats the straight single.
Because I want to. And because I can. Anyway, you can't do those doubles on Betfair.

Fair enough... the words ' money, more, sense' and 'than' spring to mind though.

What has Betfair got to do with the price of kippers???

Much better to bet on a scorer at any time IMO. Shorter odds, but makes the game much more exciting and you've got more chance of winning.

because I won't be going down a bookies, so I've had a few bets on betfair and they don't do the Kitson 2-1 double, have to do it as singles.

Not sure what my betting has to do with you or what you think anyway. :|

Nice to see Karacan's at ridiculous odds of 14.5 to score at any time.

I was contributing to this thread, which is about betting on the game tonight. Whereas your main contribution appears to be having a dig at me for daring to spend a tenner on a couple of bets!

I wasn't having a dig at you personally. I did say 'why do PEOPLE do these silly bets?'

My contribution was to warn people that haven't had a bet before, which seems like a few reading the earlier part of the thread, that betting on multiple selections is a mugs way of betting and to stick to a sensible reasoned bet rather than a lucky punt in the dark or gut feeling.

I had a gut feeling that Mon Mome would come somewhere in the Grand National, so I backed it to place.

I rarely bet and when I do, it's only on betfair and I have 3 or 4 bets at £2 a time.

OK.... I will forgive you then, but only because Little Miss Splendid is my daughters favourite.

There should be some kind of related contingency bets coming up at the end of the season. Similar to last years if Fulham win, Reading will be relegated double

As there are so many combinations I dont think that it would be great odds to soften the blow... Lets get through tonight first though.

RL, explain to me what Kitson 2-1 double means. Kitson to score first? Or anytime? I want to send me positive energy out to make your bet a winner.

Royalee Yeah, it is a combined bet. Basically you have to have both a 3-1 win and Kitson to score the first - if one of those things doesn't happen then you lose. Very risky, but quality if it pays off. A combined bet just means multiple bets joined into one.

Ok, I read the thread again. So 2-1 Kitson must mean Royals to win 2-1 and Kitson to score first.

Wizard, what was your bet?

Ok, I see your bet now Wiz. 3-1, Kitson.

That pretty much seals it. I predicted a 4-1 win. You have 3-1 with Kitson scoring first. RL has 2-1 with Kitson scoring first. So Kitson will score first and then we will win either 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1. 8)

I bet on Reading being relegated last year at 7-1 I think, paid for this year's season ticket! I've done the same on Pompey this year at 22-1 but looks now like I'll just miss out. Shoulda backed Hull :|

RFCUK 11/2 - HT Draw - FT Reading

£10 down, so am I correct in thinking I will receive £55 plus my original £10 bet if it goes my way?

Great call RFCUK.
