Destiny is again, not in our hand.
We may not be good enough even if we defeat Brum 4-0 next Sunday.
But, let salute the result of today's away game for a moment!

Harry Carry Statistically we have a chance because we havn't kicked off yet, but this game is really a bridge too far. Reading are simply the better side and will play with no fear and will go for it knowing that if they do slip up they have a second bite at the cherry. I tend to think that we play with fear and at times find our own crowd intimidating ( supporters are not the best at cranking up the volume from start to finish - me included ). I believe therefore that our only chance is to play Cody up front with Lee as he appears devoid of the fear factor. I see us as underdogs and expect us to lose.

Sorry mate. This must be a sickener for you.

Great win tonight. Thought we looked solid at the back and was very impressed with Long up front, chased every ball and took his 2 goals very well indeed. Bring on Sunday!!!

How costly could letting that 2 goal lead slip at Blackpool the other week be.

An absolute stroll in the park after the first goal killed off a woeful Norwich who were lacking in any confidence. Cheerio to them. Credit to Reading who controlled the last quarter of the game with ease, well done to Shane Long who is a rough diamond and a jolly nice chap who deserves to succeed. It took Kebe more than an hour to run at his man and be direct, first time he managed to do that we scored.

Henderson and Halford to deny us on Sunday? 8) Don't rely for one moment on other teams to do us a favour, remember Portsmouth last year!

Have to say I think I would prefer to see Stretch on Sunday though Harding was OK..Karacan looks a real player to me..maybe should have come back in earlier and I know opposition were poor but we had so much more in midfield tonight. I can name about 10 costly performances that should not have been ...unbeaten in 9 away...we should be home and hosed tonight

Thanks for the help, but I realise that.

If I'd been addressing it to a Norwich fan, I might have meant it sincerely.

Alan Partridge Now I'm not know for being a ray of positivity but why so much anti on this game? It's not that bad, first 15mins was good, Long has caused problems, Kitson when trying not to 'help' out the defense with woeful backpasses has played a couple of nice through balls, we've done ok, better passing than i saw in the last game. Defensively we look absolutely fine apart from that idiot Rosenior. They can cream themselves as much as they like over Ronald Mcdonald or whoever he is but he's done nothing. One run, a 1st touch worse than Shane Longs, Duberry and Bikey have had a very easy time thus far.

Norwich are the home side who need 3 points far more than Reading do and aprt from two long shots that smack of desperation they haven't done remotely enough if I was a fan of theirs.

Reading are doing just fine, Little was having a shocker regardless of injury, I'm sorry the legs have gone completely with Little, we'd get more mobility out of Brian Potter. Kebe has been Kebe, two or three nice runs and the same end product as a Betamax video recorder.

0-0 at half time, that's ok. Karacan's getting on the ball and doing fairly well, I want to see more from the other 3 midfielders, 2 forwards in the main fine, defense sound first look at Harding and he looks a very good player, Rosenior needs to step up and be bloody careful second half. Greasy surface and on a booking, if he gets sent off tonight he should be fined the maximum amount.

But ok so far, don't see quite the need for the vitriol, they are a nothing side and have done as much.

Yep cya, Norwich first attempt on target 94mins 18 seconds, from the lad McDonald who was appalling.

What a bizarre season this has been, there is noc hance Reading should be in with any chance of promotion and yet there it is, still outside, but a chance nonetheless.

Maybe they found Kebe's twin brother at half time? First half pub player, 2nd half matchwinning winner, although the 2nd header from Long was as good as it gets. That was a ridiculously difficult header which he made look easy.

As much as I don't rate him Hunt's energy and legs are enough to warrant a place instead of Little now sadly. I'd back Little with a crossing opportunity more than Hunt but it's no good if you just don't have the wheels to get into those positions. Thought Karacan had a busy game and was excellent throughout, our two central defenders were outstanding. I had to LOL @ Birtles (again) when he was almost screaming for them to go route one to Alan Lee (not Shearer but Lee), errm yes please. There is absolutely no chance that anyone in this division is better in the air than Doobs and Bikey, they won absolutely everything. Not a single Doobs hoof, just solid, comfortable, defending. Very very good from Reading in that aspect.

could see the confidence grow after the goal, players demanding the ball some lovely passing moves and in the end a very routine victory.

Only reason I knew he was playing was that he kept giving the ball away.

LOL @ Murty. "We have a team of technical players"..............I was thinking Reading had change most of their team when he said that!

shame is if we had even half decent form at home since christmas we would be home by now...and one last thing..CHUCK THE EGG CHASERS OUT, everyone interviewed as been very diplomatic about it for fear of upsetting JM..but the message is there, last 2 games on good pitches we played good football, expect SC to make that very point when he leaves

He's right about the pitch though. It's not condusive to Reading's prefered style of play i.e. passing and actual football, rather than hoofing all the time. It could cost us promotion.
