great result. fantastic assists from kebe for both goals and great headers from shlong to get us the three points. my doubt, which i raised throughout, lies in kits. goal last week or not he doesnt look like he's got it and, worse, like he wants it either.

harding and bikey were both exceptional at the back, bring on the brum. all hail to warnock wanting to get one over on his former employers?

Unconvincing first half but much better in the second, played the ball more on the ground and looked so much more comfortable and threatening, as this got the wide players more involved in the game, for what its worth my marks are :-

USA 7-----------Very Comfortable all evening, one of his quieter matches
Rosey 7----------Not given many problems, unfortunat, but took a necessary booking early on.
Bikey 7----------Never troubled, easy match
Doobs 7----------Never troubled, easy match
Harding 7--------Well surprised over the last couple of matches, very comfortable and solid
Little 6----------A little bit of the old "blakey" but not the player he was
Karacan 7--------A young lad thrown in at the deap end, tenacious, works hard a very good prospect
Cisse 6----------made very little impact during his time on
Kebe 7-----------An enigma !! not too much from him in the first half, but in the second great tracking back and two superb crosses
Kitson 6----------Worked tirelessly, but made very little impact in the "business area" of the pitch
Long 9-----------Immense performance ran his legs off, one straight forward header and one great one

Hunt 6------------Lots of energy, but very little impact
Marek 6---------Took some of the weight from karacan, good vision but struggles with the close marking in this league
Pearce 6---------Ran on well, not enough time to mark

Cisse had a poor game.

He was slow, misplaced too many passes and sat too deep. Karacan had to make all the running in midfield.

Cisse was dreadful, as he usually is to my eyes.

It was a joy to see Matejovsky's passing when he came on - he does struggle with some aspects of the English game but he is the only player we have who can pick an unexpected pass into space for a hooped man to run onto. And he looks to do it all the time. He is a little bit dangerous to have around at times but the guy brings a quality to the team that nobody else comes close to. (Cisse is also dangerous to have around as he gives the ball away as much as MM but he has none of the latter's skill or vision.)

Little was awful - Bikey was poor in the 1st half but awesome in the 2nd, Kitson was extremely average throughout.

Well done Kebe and Long, so good to see 2 of HNA's favourite targets for derision coming good.

Pretty much agree with what you say particularly re Bikey who had an iffy first half but was in total control in the second half. Typical Bikey performance I suppose.

We missed him IMO, Cisse was god awful, and Marek doesn't have the legs to last 90 mins.

tonights display prooved that we are one of, if not the best team in this division, i know we were playing against a team low in the table, but they had it all to fight for as well, what with trying to stay up, and was probably a more important game to them than us. But the way we played showed our class, Cisse was the only player who didn't shine tonight, but i think thats more to do with his style of play and the fact he plays as a defensive midfielder, which makes it hard for him to shine.
Hopefully this win will boost the teams confidence going into Sunday, if we play like that on Sunday, i don't think we will have a problem, even against Brum.

If only we could start with a one goal lead. We'd challenge our points record (even if we had a goal taken off at the end.

We only seem to start playing once we go behind or get ahead.

A good result but a poor performance really. Reading just give the ball away too easily and play themselves under pressure. Against a better side they would have struggled to get anything out of that game. They need a ball player in midfield. Karacan looks out of his depth and Cisse simply isn't good enough. Reading could do with someone like Clingan who can pass the ball and find a man. Too many easy passes went astray and I mean easy passes. Good job there was a couple of good moment from Kebe and Long.

You can really see the difference in quality between the Prem and Championship. Some of the football played last night bordered on pub football.
