T.R.O.L.I.
Dirk Gently
percy freeman fanclub Perhaps we should do as Norwich did to our supporters last night;force them to sit and therefore reduce the effectiveness of their support.
When I asked why this rule didn't apply to their home fans ,the chief steward told me he was "under orders to keep our fans quiet" and not bother about home fans.Perhaps the Madstad tangos could enforce ground safety rules or am I expecting too much................

God, this old, old gripe again. When are people going to learn the realities of life....

What I will say, DG, on "this old gripe" is thus:

The Norwich stewards in our section are the first stewards I've seen in a while who actually carried out the "sitting down of fans" in the correct way - that being starting at the front of the standing group and moving to the back of the stand. That way, no-one in the back row can moan that there's no point in sitting down until the people in front of them are sat down.

Perhaps our stewards should have a rethink of the methods they use of trying to get fans to sit down.

'greed..but it would have also been nice to see a similar group of stewards doing the same thing to the whole stand of home fans behind the goal aswell...

But it's never going to happen. In that same way that if the whole of the Reading away support stood then stewards would be unable to stop them. Stewards have to do seen to be doing their best to stop standing, so they'll always only fight the battles they can win.

So if they had walked up the home end stand in the same way...it would have been sufficient for me...it's the one rule for one set and one rule for another which is always the issue...

Everyone just needs to make a lot of noise, usually all it takes is the drummer to drive out some tune or another at regular intervals rather the the negligible activity that's recently been forthcoming.

90 minutes solid of "blue army" can be very very intimidating not to mention annoying for away support.

Say no to the drummer, I'd rather have rumblkestix

boy1985 I heard the club are sacrificing a couple of stewards to the gods around 2ish to get the crowd going.

What will we do for atmosphere in the first half?

royalexile The club / STar have organised clappers similar to those are Arsenal away last season to hopefully drown out the Brum support.
just drown Brum support out. That's the basics sorted.

I really hope you're joking.

Snowball Do Birmingham have all the South Stand?

Apparantly they appealed to the FA and we have been told we must give them it all. Royals fans with South Stand tickets will have their tickets revoked.

It's like Fish-O-Mania on here today...........

Maybe if Reading fans weren't such a massive bunch of jessies and stood their ground at away games things would improve.

I didn't think that happened. The support was great, the stewards allowed a certain amount of standing and i thought the balance between the supporters standing and being asked to sit down due to persistent standing was balanced and fair. If supporters behind are sitting down why ruin there day out. Obviously when on attack we stood but that is expected.
