Thaumagurist* Ferguson looked far too calm when his side were 2-0 down.

My mate kept saying at 2-0, United will win this 4-2 now you watch, I was going to tell him to lay off the beer but then in went Uniteds 4th........ and then the 5th..

No doubt convincing Colin to lose against Sheffield United however I think he know he is made of stronger stuff than that.

I spoke to Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock yesterday.

First, we reminisced fondly about the time a screaming mob of Reading fans chased him to his car outside the Madejski Stadium after a match against his old team Sheffield United and pounded on his bonnet, yelling obscenities as he made his escape.

Then we shared a few happy stories about Royals coach Wally Downes and his charmingly repetitive habit of voicing his desire to knock out Warnock if he ever gets the chance.

Then we remembered there is one club that needs Palace to beat Sheffield United on Sunday to have any chance of automatic promotion to the Premier League. And that club is Reading.

Warnock, understandably, is rather amused at how things have turned out. "It must be the first time in his life Wally's wanted me to win," he said.

My guess, actually, is that Wally and Reading's loyal fans could have done an awful lot worse than be in a situation where they have to rely on Warnock's powers of motivation.

My guess is Palace will come out all guns blazing against his hometown club at Selhurst Park. Warnock's teams usually do.

Yes, his dear mother must have asked him by now what he was blethering on about, for surely she must be the only one who ever bothers reading his tripe. I've honestly never so much as glanced at any of his tawdry columns outside of links provided by patrons of this website to the garabge he has spouted.

That's the thing.

He's just about the only non Reading fan I know who gives toss about Reading. It would be like Nick Ive running a hate campaign against, say, Chesterfield, can't believe his readers want to hear this shit.

Journalist whose job is to deliver affluent web-browsers to web-site funded by adverts in continually attacking club which is supported by the most web-connected supporters(*) of any team, in affluent area of the country shocker.

Oliver Holt's job is not t write objectively about football. Like that of any journalist not working for a public service organisation, it's actually to deliver readers to the adverts which fund his publication. I'd say he does that pretty well - and even more so every time he gets a bite like this.

(*) The Thames Valley has the greatest proportion of home personal computers and internet connections of any district in the UK. Reading has the highest proportion of "connected" supporters of any English League team.

Simon Jordan wants Sheffield Utd to go up.

by Ups and Downs » 02 May 2009 20:25

I was round my mates house and his Dad had just got back from a golf trip in Spain were he had got talking to Crystal Palace chairman, Simon Jordan. Apparently the blonde haired gaybo stated with glee that he would be doing everything he could to see sheffield got a result as he hates Reading. Not entirely sure what he'll be able to do to effect it but he's still a cock of the highest order.

Simon Jordan is a top bloke, I agree with his views in most things when it comes to club ownership and he saved his boyhood club from going out of business, not just some greedy oxf*rd like Mad£j$ki
