We'll do our bit, Sheffield United will also win and we'll finish 3rd.

A massive anticlimax.

Reading 4 - 0 Brum
Palace 0 - 1 Sheff Utd

Deja vu all over again.

Quite looking forward to the playoffs anyway - haven't 'done' Deepdale yet so would quite like it to be PNE.

RFC 1(1) Brum 1(0)
Palace 1(0) Blades 2(1)

We spend most of the game needing a one goal swing, but the last 15 minutes needing two things to change. Cue increasing frustration and pointless anxious hope.

What would be absolutely awful is if Palace do the business against Sheff Utd but we don't do our job against Brum. However I'm going for a 3-1 Reading win and a 2-0 Sheff Utd win. 3 wins and 2 draws from 5 going into the play-offs. A tired Burnley team in the semis followed by either an out of form Cardiff or a devastated and nervous Brum in the final. All will work out well. :)

This is a total bonus game for me - I actually am pretty comfortable with whatever happens.

We're going to finish 3rd though.

I'm determined not to fall prey to the temptations of hope, or its even more alluring cousin expectation. I'm determined to start out with determined indifference and if things start to go our way that might evolve into a studied incredulity - head shaking, "tch tch, would you believe it?", that kind of thing. Then when it all goes wrong, as it inevitably will, it's but a small step back to a shrug of the shoulders and looking forward to a trip up to Lancs.

According to the last 8 overall form table, Palace are bottom and Sheff U are top.

Also, Brum are one place above Reading.

Fun Bank Holiday coming up? Probably not. :|

I think we'll win 2-1. Not sure about the other game.
It's a win-win for me... Didn't really expect to have a chance of 2nd, and to be assured of having the second leg of the semi at home is already pretty good.

Was there already a predictions thread? I thought for sure I posted this already.

Here is how it will play out:

For us:
1-0 to the Royals with our goal coming around the 70 minute mark on another Shane Long header.

For Sheff U:
0-0 as Sheffield United squander chance after chance and just can't break through against Palace.

2- 0 Reading Kebe 35 Kitson 67

1 - 1 Sheff U

Probably heart ruling head but Sheff U haven't been that impressive recently.

Scrappy win at our place. draw with Forest, beaten by Burnley and only beat Swansea by the odd goal.

Sometimes when a team has it all to play for, the pressure can get to them.
