Darren_Reading Pitch invasions are an important part of the game, those who fail to participate have no passion and obviously don't care about their club.

If you've no intention of going on the pitch on Sunday, you should do the right thing and give you ticket to a proper w*nker who's bang up for it.

Let me guess..... Footballs casual culture?

Sir Rodger Doyle Anyone who runs on the pitch on Sunday has no respect for RFC. The groundstaff have worked their bollox off to give the team the best possible surface to play on. There is the possibility of a play-off match plus the usual end of season finals to be played. Please don't run onto the pitch, it always leads to some tw*ts goading the away fans who may have the real hump with us.

Fines.........
Points deductions............
violence...........

I don't see what there is to be gained from it, apart from some internal selfish need for attention.

I can't really see any sanctions being taken against the club if there was a mass pitch invasions, unless it resulted in serious dis-order between the fans. Wolves fans invaded the pitch after they got promoted against qpr and no-one is talking about stripping them of the title, or deducting points.

If 20,000 reading fans invaded the pitch i can't see everyone being given 5 year banning orders and having their member cards taken off them.

Scarface
Thames I for one am DEFINETLY going on the pitch. Win, Lose or Draw.

Bearing in mind we're most likely to be in the play-offs, you really have to be some sort of retarded arsehole to invade the pitch.
He is.

Something might have been said if QPR still had a play off game to play. I seriously doubt 20,000 fans will invade the pitch - it will be the usual teenage @rse holes who think they're clever and hard and will run like the wind if a policeman on a horse, or an opposition fan comes anywhere near them.

Yes promotion is fair enough - I doubt anyone would mind about that. But, there will be the usual idiots who will go on the pitch if we don't secure promotion on Sunday.

There'll be horizontal netting in place around the perimeter of the pitch, like a few seasons back, to stop any pitch invasion.

Does anyone have a garden trampoline that I can get some practice on?

I suspect that the type of result will dictate how any pitch invasion would be received.

If Brum go up and invade the pitch, i don't think it will go down too well (like when wolves invaded barnsley''s pitch upon being crowned champions). however, i think only the a*sehole kids will go running on before getting scared. everyone else will go home looking forward to the play offs.

If Reading go up, with a clear margin of victory (i.e. winning by a good few goals) then brum will probably have gone home already and the pitch invasion will be uncontested (like versus derby a few years ago)

If it's a close game settled by a last minute go, i think it could be hostile

I'm going to run on the pitch from the North Stand then keep running right out of the gap in the corner where the ambulances come in then keep running like Forrest Gump until I reach the end of the world.

I remember watching the Derby pitch invasion from the Lower West. It really was an extremely scary thing to watch - as this sea of humanity came tearing across the pitch. It didn't look like individual people, it was more like a solid tide.

Surely that would have been the case if it'd happened at St James's Park?

In all seriousness, if we do get promoted on Sunday, there's a chance Birmingham may not make it in the play offs. That's alot of revenue the club will be missing out on and I do feel for them. If anyone on the pitch at the final whistle has any spare change in their pockets, it would be a really nice gesture to throw it into the Birmingham end, where their fans can collect it and invest it in their club.

There might be one or two idiots who throw it back, but we can take the moral high ground.

I would chuck a tenner if it meant consoling Karen Brady in private.
