If you're tired of Reading wasting your time why not go and support Man United.

You obviously aren't a true football fan.

SLAMMED We still have the play-offs. Anything can happen.

Judging by todays peformance, wanting a win that could and would have us seen promoted....makes me think that we should just forfiet and forget. Pessimistic but bloody easier than watching that awful performance today...If the players can't wind themselves up for todays game and potential prize, then I think the playoffs harbour only pain!

Sometimes I wish it was that simple. After 38 years of following this club I've almost got to the end of my tether. Or at least that's how it feels. It's a one-way ticket to Loserville via Chokesville. No doubt I'll be saying the same thing in another 35 years (but wittier I hope).

Clockwise: "It's the hope I can't take." Lose 10-0 on Saturday and put us out of our miseries.

Unrealistically high expectations, founded on the successes of this century alone. That said, apart from spurts of quality from the likes of Burnley and the late runs by Preston and Sheff Utd, this league has been pi$$ poor. We really ought to have done better, promotion was there for the taking. The second half of this season has been like a re-run of last. Little hunger, desire or motivation.

Despite the storming second half, we were inept and clearly second best today. However, 38 years ago, to even be playing in such a game would have been unthinkable. I have followed Reading for even longer than that and been at the end of my tether on at least 38 occasions. Thing is, I always come back for more. Every now and then it's worth the effort.

I am actually getting more and more annoyed by today. I was kind of alright when I left the ground and have not been drinking, we just really oxf*rd it up today. We had it there in the palm of our hands as Palace did us a favour and we oxf*rd it up.

I am going to get a drink.

There was much similarity to the Sheff Utd match today, as with United, Birmingham wanted it more. they were quicker to the ball, quicker to shut down Reading when we got the ball, and had buckets more passion, effort and desire to win and get up to the Premiership. This general lethargic attitude of the team since Christmas is consistent and has not improved, I have always thought that a return to the Premiership is hardly at the top of Sir JM's wishes, I understand he was interviewed on Sky Sport earlier today and spent time spouting off about the cost of the Premiership, this has always been his attitide to another promotion and I strongly believe that he is content with our Championship position. As for the play-offs we have to get a convincing win at Burnley as we cant win anything at home at the moment, and I actually thought that the pitch was ok today, so what the problem is this year heaven knows, but the festering bad attitude that we came down with last season still appears to be around the team. Possibly not selling Hunt and Doyle in January will turn out to be one of the bigger mistakes as both these two have hardly put much effort into the last few months. if there was to be an amazing turnaround and we discovered some form to get through the play-offs, god only knows what sort of side we would end up with next season, as again we would be doing our upmost to do it on the very cheap.

Well said, football has always been like this and thats what makes the addiction the ups and downs and hearts in our mouths, soaking up the atmosphere of each game, the camaraderie of belonging to a small but elite group of fans that can get to see there team play, the pressure we feel the same as the team, armchair supporters of the prem top flight can keep there shirts as thats as close as there gunna get to the real thing.
Reading play real football, not investments in to venture capitalisam of a big name from South America, not having to lose your chance of a seat to a corprate sponsor who dont know who the team is let alone the squad, its the feeling of " my god theres another Reading supporter"when your miles from there, i know i live a long way from Reading it feels great when you see a fellow fan so far out, its the 3 1 victories over Liverpool the 6 0 wins over West Ham but its also the losses like to Bolton in the Last Play offs i went to, but im not drepressed this is why i love THE ROYALS i wouldnt have it any other way.

I bet 90% of Man United fans have never felt the kind of pressure and nervousness as we have.

I would gladly chose being a Reading fan over one of the big 4. Glory hunters may turn round and say "you're shit", but they will never experience the same pride that we feel when we achieve something great.

I was depressed about today. Came home to bash the last tiles off the bathroom wall...

Stupid bloody Birmingham fans - bash!
Stupid bloody team letting two goals in and not scoring three - bash!
Couldn't even be bothered to do their 'lap of honour' - bash!
Stupid bloody Kitson - bash!

Then I remembered we had two more games at the very least to put things right and they'll be against Burnley, one of the teams I've enjoyed watching the most, and there's the chance to go to Wembley, which is what I wanted right at the start of the season... and I cheered up.

...and all the tiles off the wall now

...so C'mon URzzz.
