Archie's penalty Alan Bennett scores for Brentford. Championship winning goal?

Well it certainly helped - what a time to score your first of the season.

Great scenes at Darlo where Bennett was the first to lead the team accross to celebrate with the fans at the end of the game and then great celebrations back at Griffin Park. It was reported that Ben Hamer was still in the pub outside the ground at around 3:00 this morning.

Luton at home next Saturday is going to be fun!

Is he a bit of a folk hero then Bennett? Do you think Hamer could make it here?

Bennett is the type of player that every club needs at whatever level they are playing at. Whole hearted and a good leader. Whether we can afford to make him an offer for next season is another matter. Hamer is still very young and prone to mistakes but I would be more than happy to have him as our keeper again next season - hasn't he just got a new contract at Reading.

Anyway - hearty thanks to Sir Steve for the loans and if he is not busy he is more than welcome at the championship party next Saturday and he can bring Wally with him!

James Henry doing ok for Millwall in their play-off semi against Leeds. This will be a good education for him!

Sodje has been pretty average, but did block Henry off a few times. Surprised Sky didn't mention they both could have been in Burnley today.

I heard on TV that Henry.s loan spell will end before the final so maybe he will be in our wembley squad rather than Millwalls?

No he didnt, he was standing on the penalty spot when they scored

Even if it was Henry who put the ball back in from the right it was the left winger who created the goal

This reminds me....did anyone see Antonio's miss for Cheltenham the other week?

A yard or so out at the back post, open goal, sliced it high and wide I think!

Yep he wasn't involved, Martin (who looks a much better player than Henry IMO) crossed and it was the Millwall striker who pulled it back.
