Dirk Gently

Hehe.

Actually this might not be too far from the truth.

This is the ONE occasion where the anti-Coppell Mensa crew's philosophy of shunning facts is actually useful: forget our form, forget the morale, forget the pitch, forget the rubbishness of our fans... just forget it all and believe we'll do it. Sing like you've never sung before and be as positive as you can be. Positivity is the one thing that can pull us through!

We're out of the race for the Premiership tonight.

Sorry, but that's about as positive I can be.

That's OK because the play-offs are for promotion to the Premier League, not the Premiership.
So maybe we still have a chance.

I was there at Elm Park Amen to that! I can't believe the stupid negativity on here. So many think we're awful then seem surprised when we don't win every game. As I look at it we can't lose, we either get promoted or have the possibility of a new and hopefully exciting team next year.

I 100% agree with this. Next season it will be 50 years since my grandfather first took me to Elm Park. He never lived to see Reading in The Premiership - I did. Win, draw or lose tonight the last few seasons have been fantastic when I think back to being in the Third & Fourth Divisions. Yes we could start next season in the second tier with perhaps a new management team and a youthful squad ready to give their all for Reading FC or we could be on our way to Wembley. I will always be postive come what may.

New management team? Not happy with the last four years of Top Championship/Prem status under Coppell? Prefer to go back to the lottery of 135 years of chopping and changing where our best achievements matched Coppell's darkest hour? Losing Coppell will be a tragedy, unless we strike it incredibly lucky again.
