You'll always be remembered Sir Steve, you're a true legend in every sense of the word.

Good luck for the future.

Wow, that's all happened very quick. I can't help but think, however, that this is best for the club.

Truly the end of an era then. Thanks for everything Steve, a true Reading legend.

Legend, but the time is right. Hard act to follow but it just had to happen.

What I would say though is the players are a gutless spineless shower and I hoep the 'names' and lads on big money are the first ones out the door, they have let down Coppell and the supporters massively in 2009

He's an absolute dickhead, I agree.

Anyone who writes the above when the best manager this club has ever seen leaves in such sad circumstances, whether joking or not, is a clown.

Didn't we achieve 4th under a 'far inferior' manager, once?

The next manager will get us into the playoffs, if not promoted.

We're a bigger, better club now than when Steve took over. We've pushed ourselves beyond what we've ever achieved before and it will be done again. Under Steve Coppell, we had two fantastic seasons and, for that, he'll always be regarded as a RFC legend.

But attend carefully now:

This is not the end.

This is not even the beginning of the end.

This is the start of something new.

Absolutely. Certain players need to take a long long look at themselves. Steve was a legend. He did not deserve to be let down so much by the prima donnas.

He won't read this, but in case he does, you are a true legend, Steve.

Thank you for everything.

Not good.

Fella has done well here, and deserves praise.

Those who think not, are as pathetic as I expected.

end of the chapter, end of an era. sounds via the report that it was entirely his decision and i respect him for it. i thank him for the years, for the highs and lows. i think though that now was definately the time.

the king is dead.

long live the king.
