Royalee Get rid of:
Hahnemann
Murty
Rosenior
Golbourne
Duberry
Sodje
Bennett
Gunnarsson
Harper
S Hunt
Little
Kebe
Kitson
Lita
Probably won't manage to ditch them all, but it'd be nice. I'd keep the rest and build around our younger players.

ElliottRG30 We'll have to balance out the books, and he's our best asset.
Balance out the books!?! I would love to know just how much profit the club has made in the last 3 years.

papereyes It's certainly a phenomenon in all walks of life. At one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone forever. All walks of life: George Best, for example. Had it, lost it. Or David Bowie, or Lou Reed. Yeah, some of his solo stuff's not bad. It's not bad but it's not great either. And in your heart you kind of know that although it sounds all right, it's actually just shite ... We all get old and then we can't hack it anymore.
Beautifully fucking illustrated, in the case of RFC, by Bryn and Murts.
Sadly.
At some point, we have to stop being so oxf*rd sentimental about the squad of '05-'06.
Every so often it all comes together and its magic. Absolute fucking fried liquid gold magic.
But you try and repeat that and what do you get? The three horsemen of the play off semifinal, limbering up as if it were Murts' testimonial and they were having a little jog out.
Bryn ain't 25 no more. He's approaching 35 and he'll be even more of a substitute, bit-part player next season. Find that young firebrand out there with a burning desire in his eyes and those steely Boris Becker good looks. Kitson,as well, showed me wrong. I wanted him to succeed but he's another - its gone. That magic I wanted him to show just wasn't in those gangly, pale legs anymore. Same as Little. Same as SHunt, to some extent. What had been an exciting, busy player was just a snarling mess who ran faster to complain that he did chasing down loose balls.
We need to move on. Not wholesale changes in one rushed summer but let some of the older players out, rely more on the youngsters who gave decent showings this season (mainly Karacan, Long, Pearce; but Kelly and Henry are pushing through, Church won't let us down) start replacing those names on the squad that add no value - Bennett, Sodje, Lita. Let some of the old warhorses - Doobs, Hahnemann, Bryn, Little, Murty - out to the paddock. Maybe there's a second chance for Hunt or Harper, but don't rely on them in 2010 because of what they did in 2005.
