I'd keep Matejovsky, but Spizz has a very good point, Marek gives away posession uneccesarily far to much.

And don't use that taking risks with attacking balls bullshit, because he gives it away with the most pedestrian non-attacking passes as well. Where were the defensive midfielders? Supporting the attack and not expecting the ball to be lost so ridiculously easily?

They certainly weren't going to be hanging around in the left wing/back position. Which is exactly where the ball went. If Matejovsky wasn't so sluggish he could have closed down Paterson. Or Pearce could equally have closed him down.

Pearce should have closed him down. He's not learning. He failed to close down Earnshaw in the Forest game and got away with it. He then failed to close down the Forest player and didn't get away with it when they scored. He can't just hold the defensive line all the time. Sometimes he has to come out and close the player down.
As for Matejovsky I couldn't care whether he stays or leaves. What's he done in his time at the club? Very little that I can recall.

I sympathise with Pearce, he had a long way to come. If he rushed out he left a huge gap behind him for some one to run into and if he came out too quickly then it's relatively easy to wrong foot him and go past through on goal.

It's not often someone scores a screamer like that. But SOMEONE should have gone to him and from my hazy memory there weren't many Burnley players forward and a few of ours back, so on balance, in hindsight he should have stepped up.

2 players who do indeed have genuine talent, arguably the two most naturally talented footballers at the club BUT....


Matejovsky. We "know" what he is capable of achieving on a football pitch. However, 16 months is a bloody long to wait to see some actual evidence of his creative capabilities on the pitch. A 21st Century Darren Caskey IMO. There's only so long the excuse that "his team mates are just not on his wavelength" will wash.

Bikey - He's been at the club for 3 years now and whilst his footballing ability is beyond question he just can't shake of that, and I'm choosing my words kindly here, impetuous, dare I say, complacent and casual streak. For all his excellent defensive qualities, his 60yd cross field passes and his bullet headers from set pieces, his career so far is memorable for 2 things, decking a stretcher bearer and getting sent off in the semi final of an International tournament and decking a forward and getting sent off in a play off semi final.

Hahnemann, Duberry and Rosenior all give it away far more when they don't even look to create.

Rosenior certainly I'd be shot of him in an instant. Hahnemann's distribution issues are blown way out of proportion and most 'keepers give the ball away a fair amount wit their punts downfield.
Doobs put next to a ball playing centreback and with full backs and midfielders with movement showing for the ball and he wouldn't give it away much.

The only one of them who's job is to pass and create is Rosenior who is shite.

The point about Bikey, agree or disagree he should go because of it, you can't argue that he doesn't have problems.

He has consistently showed that he can't control his temperament. He has a poor disciplinery record and whilst he has the talent, he rarely looks in control defensively on the ball and has a poor concentration span.

Raw talent does not outweigh the mental side in a centreback. As ably demonstrated by Titus Bramble. Very talented, but also useless for Newcastle becaue of his error prone game.

I don't know if anyone else agrees but Liam R performances have made me realise that I totally unappreciated Murts.

Liam R is quick and can overlap but his distribution is shocking.

I used to like Murts coz he was part of the old guard but thought he was quite an average player. He may not be as quick but at least he can pass a ball unlikely Liam R. Considering Liam R is one of the only players we have in our squad who had considerable prem experience pre RFC he has been a big let down.

IMO it appear injuries have caught up with Murts I think we need another RB as it may be asking too much of Kelly to play every week next season.

I hope we get the manger sorted quickly as we may miss out on players. For example T Rowe, who whenever I have seen play has looked a cracking left winger and was linked to prem clubs has moved to Peterborough. Stockport are being raided because of going into administration and hope we don't miss out on any of their players.

Looking at the disciplinary tables for this season he doesn't even make the top 20, and there are players here whom you wouldn't naturally consider being agggressive or poor with their discipline.
