Have any of the players spoken out on where it went wrong?

by TBM » 14 May 2009 22:21

As the title says.

Haven't had a chance to read all threads or the official site.

If not then it would be good to hear where they believe it went wrong.

Think they'll keep quiet for the moment. Especially seeing as Coppell apparently will be helping pick their new boss.

agreed, I can confirm that Coppell did not leave straight after the press conference, which would have to have been expected.

Doyle has said that it is untrue that Coppell had lost the changing-room.

Maybe the players lost the dressing room, confidence was so low at home, and there seemed to be nothing that Coppell could do, we have no idea why, and possibly never will have.

How about, "Some players, especially both wingers, had their confidence shot but vicious criticism"?

Don't be a dummy. It's not about being cute and posting clever Kebe-hating threads or SHunt-hating threads,
or booing our players on the pitch, IT'S ABOUT WINNING GAMES.

Kebe is a confidence player. Without any doubt, the negativity will have fed through to him
and made him make more mistakes.

Let's theorise for one moment. Say he hadn't been pilloried, hadn't been booed
and had managed that pass to Kitson at Burnley, and that Kits hadn't been too demoralised
and had managed to score. We'd've been 1-0 up, deservedly so, probably not lost the penalty,
not had the sending off, then we'd've come back to the Mad and won.

It's so easy to be a loudmouth on this board or boo players at games, but the negativity WILL make players even less effective

Now cue a load of "look how funny I am" posts.

!00% agree with that Snowball. I remember posting a 'keep off the players back' thread once and got villified for doing do.

Yes,
it would be intersting to hear from Kebe as to why he always had to take on one more man rather than cross or pass the ball when he had the chance,
or why Marcus launches the ball into touch from a goal kick,
or why Stephen Hunt always found the first defender from a corner................

Oh come on SHunt has been worse than Kebe - SHunt has shown in the past that he has the ability - he just couldn't be @rsed to use it - look at the difference between playing for us this season and playing for ROI. Kebe is a raw talent that still needs nurturing - I actually think he's scared to get injured and that's a mental confidence thing - someone needs to work with him one to one and if we still have him next season, we could see an even better performance from him. Some of his runs and passes have been great - he just seems to lack confidence in what to do with the ball sometimes, and that will come with some proper coaching imo.

What? All the time? They've never done anything worthwhile all season?

Or have they just been inconsistent?

How beautiful it must be to live in a world like yours, where everything is simply black or white, with no subtleties or shades of grey!

You are probably just winding people up because you are hilarious but if you think there is one reason why it went wrong then you are more stupid than you appear, and you appear pretty damn stupid.
