Negative_Jeff I think we can blame Roberto Martinez. Swansea gave us such a tanking in January that we never recovered.

Surely it was Southampton at home that gave us the tonking from which we never recovered - and that one was at home, too, where we were previously unassailable.
Especially as other managers watched that and immediately realised that if they put 5 in midfield and the extra man covered whichever of our wingers was in possession then we were immediately toothless. Once that was well-known we didn't have a plan B.
