Ultimatley it falls down to the manager, but there are quite a few players who I wouldn''t mind if they never played for Reading again.
It's a combination of things.
Got sussed out, no plan B at home.

I blame our opponents for turning up at the Madejski and having the audacity to think they are better than us and to then add insult to injury by proving it. Do they not care that the majority of fans in the ground want a home win? Typical players, only interested in winning and getting their bonuses.... why can't they be more like our players who don't care about earning a win bonus?

Coppell for:

- Not starting a czech international every time he was fit
- Not starting Bikey and Pearce together.
- Thus playing Doobs instead to play hoof ball which we aren't very good at doing
- Getting rid of Convey instead of S Hunt, how people can say Hunt is better than Convey is beyond me. He was the only winger who could cross at the club.
- Proceeding with Shane Long just because he got a few goals- and now everybody rates him :s
- Not blooding Jem Karacan and persisting with James Harper and Cisse
- Dropping Federici who is better than USA.

BASICALLY TEAM SELECTION HAS COST US THIS SEASON

I think we can blame Roberto Martinez. Swansea gave us such a tanking in January that we never recovered.

Surely it was Southampton at home that gave us the tonking from which we never recovered - and that one was at home, too, where we were previously unassailable.

Especially as other managers watched that and immediately realised that if they put 5 in midfield and the extra man covered whichever of our wingers was in possession then we were immediately toothless. Once that was well-known we didn't have a plan B.

I'm sure Coppell did nothing wrong.
The players all said the right stuff, but they didn't act on it.
Players.

Thats a fair point but both Southampton and Swansea took us to the cleaners with a passing game, most other teams simply set out to stop us.
If the Saints boss that day Poortvleit is still out of a job I would hope that he is being considered as Coppell`s replacement.

I've voted for the players - ultimately they are the ones who win, lose or draw - I do think some of our tactics were wrong, but just being able to pass a ball precisely was lacking with some players and for that, I blame the players. Soz.

Your crap spelling

Excuse me? Nothing wrong with those 3 words. I wouldn't put "Who's" in an essay, but this is a football forum.

Has nobody considered it could be Margaret Thatcher's fault?

by rhroyal » 17 May 2009 12:03

Think about it. All the coal miners brutally lost their jobs making life tougher up north. There is then the stereotype up north that all southerners are the same smug, arrogant people who think they know what's best for the country. (Just like Scotland and England) This has been passed onto the football teams who see us as the southern decision makers responsible for the suffering up there that he decisions made. They therefore went out to try and screw us over considerably more than they did to the likes of Wolves, Brum, Sheff Utd, Burnley, Preston and Cardiff. Indeed, why do you think the Welsh teams were so good against us this year? Coal mines. Look at how London teams such as QPR, Palace and Charlton fared. It makes sense. The northerners were conspiring because of Margaret Thatcter. It's her fault that we didn't go up.
