dare I even say his name, Neil Warnock. As much as the fans "love " NW, wouldn't it be great to have such an entertaining character on our side for once. Maybe there could be a real affiliation there between fans and manager.

Fair enough. Nothing wrong with newbie's, particularly those that have supported the club for 30 years. Not sure what that makes you then given your joining date.

Not saying I'd agree with NW appointment but nothing should be left unexplored. History generally says that only clubs who employ managers with a minimum level of senior championship or premier league experience will gain promotion out of this league. Let's not be satisfied with anything but the best.

His first 9 league games in charge, taking over a "relegation side" were W2 D2 L5 9-15 = 8 Points 0.89 ppg (the equivalent of a 41 point season) RELEGATED

(in that 9 they played 3 top-half sides Reading (4th), Bristol 10th, QPR (11th) )

His next 18 league games were W9 D4 L5 30-21 = 31 points 1.72 ppg (the equivalent of a 79 point season) FOURTH

(in that 18 they played EIGHT top-half sides Sheffield Utd (3rd), Burnley (5th), Wolves (Top), Swansea (8th), Cardiff (7th), Birmingham (2nd), Ipswich (9th), Wednesday (12th)

Mate as a statistician of some sort I expect you clearly know that when "n" is so small it's almost not worth mentioning.

Curbs has taken clubs up from this level and kept them in the Prem. THAT is a record. Not a half season with a club takin them out relegation but leaving them in the bottom half.

No-one knows how much was available though or will be available this coming season. There could be £500k available - it's nothing in terms of buying of players - but it's still "money available" isn't it? So JM isn't lying when he says there's money available, it would just be quite interesting to know roughly how much this money is. (BTW I plucked £500k as an example, I'm sure he's made more than that available!)

As usual I expect there is no set amount and that it is dealt with on a case by case situation. Find the players, put the case forward well and there's a good chance you'll get the cash you ask for.

Coppell was never confident with big money signings and preferred to rely on finding bargains and developing talent. Hence we he never spent a vast amount. Although contrary to popular belief he did still spend quite a few million.
