shaka's shorts Can I claim my prize. On an earlier thread debating whether Karacan, Pearce or Henry would be the first of our academy to gte a cap, I made the point that Church would do it first. Get in

Victor Meldrew Ludicrously played out of position v Burnley and did as well as could have been expected.
I saw 2 of his games for the Welsh U21s last season partnering Sam Voakes up front and he did well.
The step up to first team football even at Championship level is considerable but he has a chance and I wish him well.

Church has played most of his league football out wide in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 so not sure why you think he was played out of position

Ian Royal He looks to me like a striker who has a fair amount of talent and pace, but just doesn't have the knack for scoring a lot, or being in the right place at the right time.
And i don't think he's got what it takes to be converted to midfield or wing either. I think he'll be a nearly man and find a role as a lower league 2nd striker. But that's just gut feeling based on very little evidence.
I honestly wish him all the best. If Long can show some skill and convince me I may have been overly harsh on him I'm sure Simon could well do it as well. I certainly hope he can.

For Wales he played through the middle and scored 2 goals in one of those games-looks like an orthodox striker to me..
