The Phil Parkinson for Reading thread

by Cookie » 15 May 2009 23:25

Before all this continental cerebal thinking man stuff started with everybody banging on about how good Rodgers is, let me give a mention to no-nonsense-blood-and-thunder football of the honest English variety.

Parky is his name Parky is our man.

Like to see him do it somewhere else after showing a lot of promise at Colchester. Since then not a lot.

If he stays on at Charlton and doesn't take them back up in two seasons we know he isn't good enough.

As assistant manager, yes. As manager, no.

No, No, and absolutely No. Lovely bloke, true legend with the shirt on, wouldn't put him on a long shortlist, let alone give him the job. He has done zip to suggest he could take on the job. Giving it to him 'just because' is totally naive.

No!!!! Please not! Would be almost as bad as Tony Adams, Glen Roeder or L.Sanchez.

I disagree, Quinn & Gooding worked small miracles keeping is in the old 1st Division. They may have got some stick but look what happened when their contracts weren't renewed.

Oh & for the record i'd like Parky to stay a legend & not tarnish that by failing here as manager.

Our Messiah - he'd do as good a job as Shearer has done at Newcastle!

Absolutely not.

He made a dreadful team worse.

Love Parky and think that he will return as the gaffer one day. But now is not the time. To get out of the Championship you need somebody who is a touch more wily and experienced. Motivated and passionate he may be but, at this time, crafty enough?? No.
